Abstract

Wind energy is a renewable energy source that is environmentally friendly and abundant in Indonesia. There are so many benefits of wind energy for life, one of which can be for electricity generation which can drive wind turbines to produce electricity. In this Final Project, the author studies both experimentally and theoretically the performance of a three-stack, six- Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (TASV) made of aluminum plates. The research was conducted through field tests at Muara Baru Beach, North Jakarta. Wind speed measurements are recorded along with turbine rotation in RPM, voltage in volts and electric current in amperes, torque testing is also carried out. From the test results obtained the highest turbine actual power value is 4.90 W and the highest actual torque is 13.9 N.m at a wind speed of 4.5 m/s. The highest power coefficient (
