Abstract
Indonesia's electricity generation development pattern still tends to rely on the availability of fossil energy-based fuels. The depletion of the availability of fossil energy triggers the development of non-fossil energy-based generation. One form of non-fossil energy that has great potential is renewable energy such as water energy. Water energy is usually used as a Micro-hydro Power Plant by using a cross-flow turbine requiring a mechanical transmission system in the form of pulleys and belts to increase performance efficiency in the MHP system. However, variations in different pulley diameters can cause less than optimal performance in cross-flow turbines. So this study focuses on experimental comparisons of the diameter of the driven turbine pulley to the diameter of the driven pulley with 4 comparison variations, namely 1:1 (0.08 : 0.08 m), 1:2 (0.08 : 0.015 m) 1:3 (0.08 : 0.23 m) and 1:4 (0.08 : 0.30 m). This research was conducted to determine the maximum pulley diameter variation comparison on the performance of the PLTMH prototype using a cross-flow turbine. The method used in this study was tested experimentally directly. The best test results were obtained by using a variation of the drive pulley diameter of 1:4 with a rotational speed value of 240 rpm, a torque value of 11.96 Nm, a turbine power value of 300.43 W and a voltage value of 37.8 V. The greater the drive pulley, the used in cross-flow turbine transmission systems can affect generator performance. Keywords: Pulley, V-belt, Water, Cross-flow Turbine Pola pengembangan pembangkitan kelistrikan Indonesia masih cenderung mengandalkan ketersediaan bahan bakar berbasiskan energi fosil. Menipisnya ketersediaan energi fosil memicu pengembangan pembangkitan berbasis energi non fosil. Salah satu bentuk energi non fosil yang memiliki potensi besar yaitu energi terbarukan seperti energi air. Energi air biasa dimanfaatkan sebagai Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Mikrohidro dengan cara menggunakan turbin cross-flow membutuhkan sistem transmisi mekanik berupa pulley dan sabuk untuk meningkatkan efisiensi kinerja pada sistem PLTMH. Namun variasi diameter pulley yang berbeda dapat menyebabkan kurang maksimalnya kinerja pada turbin cross-flow. Sehingga penelitian ini berfokus kepada eksperimen perbandingan diameter pulley turbin penggerak terhadap diameter pulley yang digerakan dengan 4 variasi perbandingan yaitu 1:1 (0.08 : 0.08 m), 1:2 (0.08 : 0.015 m) 1:3 (0.08 : 0.23 m) dan 1:4 (0.08 : 0.30 m). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui perbandingan variasi diameter pulley yang maksimal pada kinerja prototipe PLTMH menggunakan turbin cross-flow. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian langsung secara eksperimen. Hasil pengujian terbaik diperoleh dengan menggunakan variasi diameter pulley penggerak 1:4 dengan nilai kecepatan putar sebesar 240 rpm, nilai torsi sebesar 11,96 Nm nilai daya turbin sebesar 300,43 W dan nilai tegangan sebesar 37,8 V. Semakin besar pulley penggerak yang digunakan pada sistem transmisi turbin crossflow dapat mempengaruhi kinerja generator. Kata Kunci: Pulley, V-belt, Air, Turbin Cross-flow
