Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop a detection technique for damage caused by piston-slap using vibration analysis. Tests carried out by measuring vibrations on a four-step engine that are damaged in the piston section then compare it with the vibrations produced by the piston in good condition. Tests are carried out at engine rpm 1000 rpm, 1050 rpm and 1100 rpm, where the sensor is placed on the cylinder block. Vibration measurements produce signals in the time domain which are then analyzed for signal energy obtained with the help of matlab software. The results showed that the frequency characteristitics in a damaged piston tend to increase when compared to the piston in good condition and a shift from the normal frequency to a higher frecuency due to damage to the piston this is fundamental to detect damage to piston. Keywords: Piston-Slap, Vibration Analysis, Matlab Software Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan teknik deteksi kerusakan akibat terjadinya piston-slap menggunakan analisis getaran. Pengujian yang dilakukan dengan mengukur getaran pada mesin empat langkah yang mengalami kerusakan pada bagian piston lalu kemudian membandingkannya dengan getaran yang dihasilkan oleh piston dalam keadaan baik. Pengujian dilakukan pada putaran mesin 1000rpm, 1050rpm dan 1100rpm, dimana sensor ditempatkan pada blok silinder. Pengukuran getaran menghasilkan sinyal dalam domain waktu yang kemudian di analisis energi sinyal yang didapat dengan bantuan software matlab. Hasil penelitian menunjukan karakteristik frekuensi dalam keadaan piston rusak cenderung naik jika dibandingkan dengan piston dalam keadaan baik dan terjadi pergeseran dari frekuensi normal ke frekuensi yang lebih tinggi akibat adanya kerusakan pada piston.
