Abstract

Aplikasi terkontainerisasi (containerized application) telah menjadi sebuah standar de-facto dalam hal model deployment aplikasi. Model deployment ini merupakan hasil dari adaptasi terhadap kebutuhan model deployment untuk mendukung arsitektur aplikasi skala besar dan microservice. Kubernetes adalah standar de-facto dalam hal alat (tool) untuk mengorkestrasi aplikasi-aplikasi yang menggunakan model terkontainerisasi. Pada Kubernetes, proses deployment berjalan secara otomatis. Pengguna hanya dengan menjalankan perintah deployment dan selanjutnya Kubernetes akan mengaktifkan pod baru dan menonaktifkan pod lama, dilakukan secara otomatis. Karena proses deployment melibatkan proses pengaktifan pod, pengalihan trafik dan penonaktifan pod, maka proses deployment memiliki pengaruh langsung terhadap kualitas layanan yang disediakan. Oleh karena itu, penulis merasa perlu dilakukan pengujian dan analisis tentang bagaimana pengaruh proses deployment tersebut terhadap kualitas layanan ketika proses deployment sedang berlangsung. Pada penelitian ini, penulis melakukan simulasi deployment untuk mengumpulkan dan menganalisa data tentang pengaruh yang terjadi terhadap kualitas layanan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa proses deployment memberi pengaruh negatif terhadap kualitas layanan stateless web service. Kata Kunci: Kubernetes Deployment, Kualitas Layanan, Pengaruh Kubernetes Deployment. Containerized applications have become a de-facto standard for application deployment models. This deployment model is the result of adaptation to the needs of the deployment model to support large-scale application architectures and microservices. Kubernetes is the de-facto standard in terms of tools for orchestrating applications using the containerized model. In Kubernetes, the deployment process runs automatically. Users simply run the deployment command and Kubernetes will then activate new pods and deactivate old pods, done automatically. Since the deployment process involves activating pods, redirecting traffic and deactivating pods, the deployment process has a direct influence on the quality of services provided. Therefore, the authors feel the need to do testing and analysis of how the deployment process influences service quality when the deployment process is in progress. This study conducted a deployment simulation to collect and analyze data about the effect that occurs on service quality. The results of this study conclude that the deployment process has a negative effect on the quality of stateless web services.
