Abstract

Transformers are important components in the electrical system that are used from the time electricity is generated, such as in a steam power plant or PLTU, until it is distributed to consumers. One of the most important parts of the cooling system for a power transformer is the fan. The increase in internal temperature and long-term reliability of the transformer is affected by the operation of the fan and oil pump of the transformer in the event of a failure. The transformer generator of PLTU Banten 1 Suralaya has 3 fans and 1 oil pump in the cooling system which operates gradually according to the temperature of the generator transformer. Short circuit disturbances in the cooling system can cause suboptimal cooling of the generator transformer. Therefore, the design of a ground fault relay in the cooling system of the transformer generator is for protection from unexpected disturbances. Based on the results of designing a ground fault relay in the generator cooling system of PLTU Banten 1 Suralaya transformer and carrying out simulations with ETAP, it works according to the block diagram of the system, where in the simulation there is a short circuit fault with a value of 38.475 kA and the contactor is in an open condition or the voltage is cut off to the load. Keywords: Transformer Cooling System, Gorund Fault Relay Trafo merupakan komponen penting dalam sistem kelistrikan yang digunakan sejak listrik dihasilkan, seperti pada pembangkit listrik tenaga uap atau PLTU, hingga didistribusikan ke konsumen. Salah satu bagian terpenting dari sistem pendingin untuk transformator daya adalah kipas. Kenaikan suhu internal dan keandalan trafo dalam jangka panjang dipengaruhi oleh pengoperasian kipas dan pompa minyak trafo apabila mengalami kegagalan. Pada generator transformer PLTU Banten 1 Suralaya memiliki 3 fan dan 1 oil pump pada sistem pendingin yang beroperasi secara bertahap mengacu pada temperature generator transformer. Gangguan hubung singkat pada sistem pendingin dapat menyebakan pendinginan pada generator transformer tidak optimal. Maka dari itu perancangan ground fault relay pada sistem pendingin generator transformer untuk proteksi dari timbulnya gangguan yang tidak terduga. Berdasarkan hasil dari perancangan ground fault relay pada sistem pendingin generator transformer PLTU Banten 1 Suralaya dan melakukan simulasi dengan ETAP, bekerja sesuai dari diagram blok sistem, dimana dalam simulasi terdapat gangguan hubung singkat dengan nilai 38,475 kA dan kontaktor dalam kondisi open atau tegangan terputus yang menuju ke beban.
