Abstract

This research was motivated by the phenomenon of student school readiness in various types of preschool education, especially in the South Meruya Village. Every child has different school readiness, the transition period becomes one phase that is not easy for early childhood. In Indonesian, the age criteria that play an important role but developmental aspects must also be considered in school readiness. This comparative descriptive research was used to study the differences in school readiness in various types of preschool education in the South Meruya Village. The method used was interviews and tests. The test was administrated to 155 children from 5 kindergartens in Meruya Selatan Village. The measuring instrument used in this study was the Nijmeegse Schoolbekwaamheids Test (NST) which measures aspects that support the readiness of children entering elementary school. Data analysis using the Kruskal-Wallis Test non parametric test. The results showed there is no difference in school readiness between public kindergarten, private kindergarten, Islamic kindergarten and Catholic kindergarten students in South Meruya Village with the significance value of the school readiness variable was 0.882 greater than > 0.05. And the optimal development aspect on the high level was related to cognitive. While a low level of developmental aspect went to motoric skills. Keyword: school readiness, kindergarten, NST. Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi atas fenomena kesiapan sekolah murid di berbagai jenis pendidikan prasekolah khususnya di Kelurahan Meruya Selatan. Setiap anak memiliki kesiapan sekolah yang berbeda-beda, masa transisi menjadi satu fase yang tidak mudah bagi anak usia dini. Di Indonesia kriteria umur yang memegang peranan penting akan tetapi aspek perkembangan juga harus diperhatikan dalam kesiapan sekolah. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif komparatif untuk mengetahui perbedaan kesiapan sekolah di berbagai jenis pendidikan prasekolah di Kelurahan Meruya Selatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah tes. Subjek penelitian ini siswa taman kanak-kanak yang berjumlah 155 orang yang berasal dari 5 TK di Kelurahan Meruya Selatan. Alat ukur yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Nijmeegse Schoolbekwaamheids Test (NST) yang mengukur aspek-aspek yang menunjang kesiapan anak masuk Sekolah Dasar. Analisa data penelitian ini menggunakan uji non parametrik Kruskal-Wallis Test untuk pengolahan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan kesiapan sekolah antara siswa TK negeri, TK swasta dan TK Islam di Kelurahan Meruya Selatan, karena nilai signifikansi variabel kesiapan sekolah sebesar 0.882 lebih besar dari >0,05. Dan aspek perkembangan yang tingkat kematangannya cukup optimal adalah aspek-aspek yang berkaitan dengan kognitif. Sedangkan aspek yang tingkat kematangannya belum optimal adalah aspek yang berkaitan dengan motorik halus. Kata kunci: kesiapan sekolah, taman kanak-kanak, NST.
