Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has 70% water area compared to land area, has enormous potential to utilize its waters to become a source of renewable energy to meet people's needs. The purpose of this research is to investigate the power output of a Wave Energy Converter (KEG) device due to the heaving of a pontoon under a mass load of 30 kg. Experiments were carried out at Tanjung Pasir Beach, Tangerang nine times with a scheduled time, where height and wavelength measurements were carried out simultaneously on the electric voltage and electric current generated by the electric generator by the KEG engine gearbox work. Based on the experimental results of the KEG machine device that has been carried out nine times, it can be stated that the KEG machine is able to work according to its function. The machine can work at a wave height of 0.12 - 0.20 m. Experimental data that has been collected and processed in the fourth experiment, shows the highest Power Take Off (PTO) energy value of 0,0495 J at a sea wave height of 0.2 m and the resulting efficiency value is 0, 0279 %. Indonesia merupakan negara yang memiliki 70% luas perairan di bandingkan luas daratan, memiliki potensi yang amat besar untuk dimanfaatkan wilayah perairannya menjadi sumber energi terbarukan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat. Tujuan penelitan ini adalah untuk menginvestigasi output daya suatu perangkat Konverter Energi Gelombang (KEG) akibat olah gerak heaving ponton pada kondisi beban massa 30 kg. Eksperimen dilakukan di Pantai Tanjung Pasir, Tangerang sebanyak sembilan kali dengan waktu yang dijadwalkan, dimana pengukuran tinggi dan panjang gelombang dilakukan secara bersamaan terhadap tegangan lsitrik dan arus listrik yang dihasilkan generator listrik oleh kerja gearbox mesin KEG. Berdasarkan hasil eksperimen perangkat mesin KEG yang telah dilakukan sebanyak sembilan kali, dapat dinyatakan bahwa mesin KEG mampu bekerja sesuai dengan dengan fungsinya. Mesin dapat bekerja pada ketinggian gelombang air laut 0,12 - 0,20 m. Data hasil eksperimen yang telah diambil dan diolah pada eksperimen keempat, menunjukan nilai energi Power Take Off (PTO) tertinggi sebesar 0,0495 J pada ketinggian gelombang air laut 0,2 m dan nilai efisiensinya yang dihasilkan adalah sebesar 0,0279 %.
