Abstract

The brain is a very important part of the body. Besides its anatomical place, in physiological it becomes the central regulator of the movement and called as the conception of the body. According to the 2013 Basic Health Research, compared to 2007 the number of stroke sufferers increase to 15.4%. It is the leading cause of death and disability in Indonesia. Problems of the brain and nerve health (neurology) in Indonesia need more integrated treatment. The existence of a brain hospital with a good design can accommodate the needs of the community for handling this disease. Studies prove that the human body can heal itself by producing drugs from the body, with the human's brain release chemical compounds through good hormones. The factors that can trigger the brain to produce good hormones in the hospital have an impact on the body that will help the healing process. This can be applied to the design of the brain hospital and adapted to the concept of the building as a healing environment. Keywords: hospital, neurology, healing environment Otak merupakan bagian tubuh yang sangat penting. Selain letak anatomi, secara fisiologis menjadi pusat pengatur kerja tubuh dan disebut juga sebagai konseptor tubuh. Menurut Riset Kesehatan Dasar tahun 2013 ketika dibandingkan dengan tahun 2007 ditemukan peningkatan jumlah penderita stroke mencapai 15,4%. Hal tersebut menjadi penyebab kematian dan kecacatan utama di Indonesia. Permasalahan dibidang kesehatan otak dan syaraf (neurologi) di Indonesia tersebut, memerlukan penanganan yang lebih terpadu. Keberadaan rumah sakit khusus otak dengan perancangan yang baik dapat mewadahi kebutuhan masyarakat untuk penanganan penyakit ini. Studi membuktikan bahwa tubuh manusia memiliki kemampuan untuk menyembuhkan diri dengan cara menghasilkan obat dari dalam tubuh, yaitu otak manusia melepaskan senyawa kimia melalui hormon baik. Adanya faktor yang dapat memicu otak untuk menghasilkan hormon-hormon baik tersebut pada rumah sakit dapat memberikan dampak pada tubuh yang akan membantu proses penyembuhan Hal-hal tersebut dapat diterapkan pada perancangan rumah sakit otak ini dan disesuaikan dengan konsep bangunan yaitu lingkungan penyembuh.
