Abstract

This study aims to find the type of rijek, the main cause and provide suggestions for improvements in the production process: finishing, natural drying, oiling, burning and routine testing. This research uses the Six Sigma methodology approach. This research is a descriptive quantitative exploratory research. The results of this study indicate the types of rijek are Upper Radius Crack, Lip Crack of Skirt, Middle Skirt Crack, 2nd Leaf Crack, Crack in Skirt, Lamination and Foot Crack. The causes of product failure are: the auger in the pugmill machine is worn out, not placing a pipe that is not perpendicular, does not match the dimensions of the radius of Honggote and the sita, and there is not yet a Yobigote twist measurement. Corrective actions include repairing the extruder and finishing machines, training operators, making new SOPs, making checksheets and checklists for control. The conclusion of this research is that quality control using the six sigma method can reduce the rejection level and increase the six sigma level. The suggestion is the need for further research to be able to increase the six sigma level and zero defect. Keywords: Six Sigma, Quality Improvement, Ceramic Manufacturing Industries and Ceramic Insulator Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan jenis rijek, penyebab utamanya dan memberikan usulan perbaikan dibagian proses produksi finishing, pengeringan alam, oiling, pembakaran dan rutin test. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan metodologi Six Sigma. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif yang bersifat eksploratif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan jenis rijek yaitu Retak Radius Atas, Retak Bibir Rok, Retak Rok Tengah, Retak Daun ke-2, Retak Dalam Rok, Laminasi dan Patak Kaki. Penyebab kegagalan produk adalah : auger di mesin pugmill sudah aus, menaruh bakalan yang tidak tegak lurus, tidak cocok antara dimensi radius Honggote dan sita, dan belum adanya pengukuran puntiran Yobigote. Tindakan perbaikan berupa memperbaiki mesin extruder dan finishing, melatih operator, membuat SOP yang baru, membuat checksheet dan checklist untuk control. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini dengan pengendalian kualitas menggunakan metode six sigma dapat menurunkan level rijek dan menaikan tingkat level six sigma. Saran yaitu perlunya penelitian lebih lanjut untuk dapat meningkatkan level six sigma dan zero defect. Kata Kunci: Six Sigma, Perbaikan Kualitas, Industri pabrik Keramik dan Isolator keramik
