Abstract
To keep telecommunications services using optical fiber as a transmission medium running well, the selection of appropriate protection systems on the Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) transmission network and Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) must be based on traffic distribution capacity, network topology and economic considerations. There are several types of protection, namely Multiplex Section Protection (MSP), Subnetwork Connection Protection (SNCP) and Automatically Switched Optical Network (ASON). The protection system that will be discussed in this thesis is the Automatically Switched Optical Network (ASON) protection system used at PT. Mora Telematics Indonesia. The expected result in this Final Project is to be able to analyze the time required for the service to restore automatically when fiber failure occurs in the main line with a switching time of less than 50 ms so that the quality of service is maintained well. In this final project, the Quality of Service (QoS) value is measured using a Bit Error Rate Tester (BERTester) with reference to the link performance parameters owned by PT. Mora Telematics Indonesia, namely 100% throughput, 0% frame loss, Latency <20 ms, and jitter 0 µs. There is a latency difference that occurs when through the main line via B3JS 11 ms and the protection path via 3rdRoute 13.5 ms Keywords: Protection system, SDH, WDM, MSP, SNCP, ASON, QOS Untuk menjaga layanan telekomunikasi yang menggunakan serat optik sebagai media transmisinya tetap berjalan dengan baik, pemilihan sistem proteksi yang tepat pada jaringan tranmsisi Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) dan Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) harus didasarkan pada kapasitas distribusi trafik, topologi jaringan dan pertimbangan ekonomis. Ada berberapa macam tipe proteksi yaitu Multiplex Section Protection (MSP), Subnetwork Connection Protection (SNCP) dan Automatically Switched Optical Network (ASON). Sistem proteksi yang akan dibahas dalam tugas akhir ini adalah sistem proteksi Automatically Switched Optical Network (ASON) yang digunakan di PT. Mora Telematika Indonesia. Hasil yang diharapkan dalam Tugas Akhir ini adalah dapat menganalisa waktu yang dibutuhkan layanan untuk restore secara otomatis ketika terjadi fiber failure di jalur utama dengan switching time kurang dari 50 ms sehingga kualitas layanan tetap terjaga dengan baik. Dalam tugas akhir ini juga dilakukan pengukuran nilai Quality of Service (QoS) menggunakan Bit Error Rate Tester (BERTester) dengan mengacu pada parameter performansi link yang di miliki PT. Mora Telematika Indonesia, yaitu throughput 100%, frame loss 0%, Latency <20 ms, dan jitter 0 µs. Terdapat perbedaan latency yang terjadi saat melalui jalur utama via B3JS 11 ms dan jalur proteksi via 3rdRoute 13,5 ms. Kata Kunci : Sistem Proteksi, SDH, WDM, MSP, SNCP, ASON, QOS
