Abstract

The Water Treatment Plant Building is one of the important buildings in a Steam Power Plant, especially in the Java 9&10 PLTU project because it has the function of producing mineral-free water which is used as a supply to the boiler which then water will be converted into pressurized steam to turn the turbine. The design of the Water Treatment Plant Building which is designed using a steel structure is expected to produce a building structure that is light and strong against earthquakes. Therefore the use of the Taper Structure system is one solution to get these two properties. The taper structure system serves to optimize steel structure buildings that tend to use a uniform profile. By utilizing welding technology, the height of the steel profile is changed in such a way that it becomes a tapered shape, the part with the maximum moment, higher than the other parts, which has a small moment. The results of the research and design show that the use of the taper profile system results in a 25% lighter building weight, namely 33,863 tons, than the use of hot rolled profiles. And in terms of the cost of using the taper profile, the difference in costs is as much as 25% cheaper, namely IDR 1,059,476,677.10 from the hotrolled profile Keyword : Water Treatment Plant Building, Penampang Taper Water Treatment Plant Building adalah salah satu bangunan penting pada suatu Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap terutama di proyek PLTU Jawa 9&10 karena memiliki fungsi untuk menghasilkan air bebas mineral yang dipergunakan sebagai pasokan kepada ketel uap yang kemudian air akan diubah menjadi uap bertekanan untuk memutar turbin. Desain bangunan Water Treatment Plant Building yang dirancang menggunakan struktur baja harapanya dapat menghasilkan struktur bangunan yang ringan serta kuat terhadap gempa. Oleh karena itu penggunaan sistem Struktur Taper adalah salah satu solusi untuk mendapatkan kedua sifat tersebut. Sistem struktur taper berfungsi untuk mengoptimalisasi struktur baja bangunan yang cenderung menggunakan profile seragam. Dengan memanfaatkan teknologi las, tinggi profile baja diubah sedemikian rupa menjadi bentuk tapered, bagian dengan momen maksimum, lebih tinggi daripada bagian lain, yang momenya kecil. Hasil Penelitian dan perancangan menunjukan bahwa penggunaan sistem profil taper menghasilkan berat bangunan yang lebih ringan 25% yaitu 33.863 ton dari penggunaan profil hotrolled. Dan dari segi biaya penggunaan profil taper menghasilkan selisih perbedaan biaya sebanyak 25% lebih murah yaitu Rp 1,059,476,677.10 dari profil hotrolled Kata Kunci : Water Treatment Plant Buliding, Penampang Taper
