Abstract

ABSTRAK Fenomena Korean pop atau Kpop saat ini sedang berkembang di Indonesia, perasaan penggemar untuk menyukai, mengagumi dan tertarik kepada idolanya dapat dilakukan dengan cara mengumpulkan atau membeli merchandise terkait idolanya, hal tersebut dapat membuat seseorang memiliki perilaku compulsive buying. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh dari celebrity worship terhadap perilaku compulsive buying. Subjek penelitian merupakan penggemar Kpop atau yang biasa disebut Kpopers di usia dewasa awal sebanyak 100 orang. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan metode analisis regresi sederhana. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah skala celebrity attitude scale yang dikembangkan oleh Maltby dan skala compulsive buying yang dikembangkan oleh Elizabeth A Edwards. Skala tersebut dimodifikasi untuk keperluan pada penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian dari pengolahan data dan pembahasan yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa celebrity worship memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan sebesar 52,4% terhadap perilaku compulsive buying, 47,6% perilaku compulsive buying dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain di luar variabel dari penelitian ini. Kata kunci: celebrity worship, compulsive buying, Kpopers ABSTRACT The phenomenon of Korean pop or Kpop is currently developing in Indonesia, the feeling of fans to like, admire and be attracted to their idols can be done by collecting or buying merchandise related to their idols, this can make someone have compulsive buying behavior. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of celebrity worship on compulsive buying behavior. The research subjects were 100 Kpop fans or Kpopers in early adulthood. The research uses quantitative methods with simple regression analysis methods. The measuring instrument used is the celebrity attitude scale developed by Maltby and the compulsive buying scale developed by Elizabeth A Edwards. The scale was modified for the purposes of this research. The results of research from data processing and discussions showed that celebrity worship has a significant influence of 52.4% on compulsive buying behavior, 47.6% compulsive buying behavior is influenced by other variables outside the variables of this research.
