Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between self-compassion and loneliness in early adulthood during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study used a Pearson correlation research design, which was chosen based on the purpose and hypothesis of the study, and accidental sampling technique. The participant in this study were 146 individuals from the population, and data were collected using an online questionnaire (Google Form). The results of this study indicated a correlational relationship between self-compassion and loneliness, with a moderate negative correlation coefficient of -0.489 and a significance level of Sig .000 ( (<0.05). This suggest that there is a negative form of relationship between self-compassion and loneliness in early adulthood during the pandemic. Therefore, it can be concluded that as self-compassion increases the feeling of loneliness will decreases, and vice versa.
