Abstract
ABSTRAK Knalpot merupakan alat untuk mereduksi kebisingan pada kendaraan. Umumnya knalpot tidak luput dari kebocoran yang diakibatkan karena adanya karat pada sambungan las knalpot. Stainless steel SS304 merupakan baja standar dengan kadar karbon yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengujian kualitas pengelasan stainless steel dan mengetahui kemungkinan terjadinya kebocoran atau retakan (crack) pada sambungan las. Metode yang digunakan adalah penetrant testing, uji tarik, dan macro examination, hal ini dilakukan untuk memastikan knalpot sepeda motor aman digunakan dan memastikan bahwa sambungan las tidak ada retakan (crack). Berdasarkan hasil dari pengujian tarik pada material SS304 dengan variasi arus amper seperti arus amper 80 memiliki nilai rata - rata kekutan tarik 612.36 MPa dan nilai rata - rata kekuatan luluh 368.44 MPa, arus amper 90 memiliki nilai rata - rata kekutan tarik 647.25 MPa dan nilai rata - rata kekuatan luluh 391.15 MPa, arus amper 100 memiliki nilai rata - rata kekuatan tarik 611.60 MPa dan nilai rata - rata kekuatan luluh 368.48 MPa. Pengelasan GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) pada material SS304 menunjukan nilai tegangan kekuatan tarik yang maksimal, macro examination, dan penetrant test tidak menemukan indikasi cacat seperti crack dan porosity pada sambungan las knalpot stainless sepeda motor. Kata Kunci : Knalpot, Stainless Steel SS304, Penglesan Stainless Steel, Pentrant Testing, Uji Tarik, Macro Examination. ABSTRACK Muffler is a tool to reduce noise in vehicles. Generally, the exhaust does not escape leaks caused by rust on the exhaust welding joints. SS304 stainless steel is a standard steel with a low carbon content. This study aims to analyze testing the quality of welding stainless steel well and find out the possibility of leaks or cracks (cracks) in the welded joints. The methods used are penetrant testing, tensile testing, and macro examination, this is done to ensure that the motorcycle exhaust is safe to use and ensures that the welded joint has no cracks. Based on the results of the tensile test on SS304 material with varying amperage currents such as 80 ampere current has an average tensile strength value of 612.36 MPa and an average yield strength value of 368.44 MPa, 90 ampere current has an average tensile strength value of 647.25 MPa and an average value - the average yield strength is 391.15 MPa, the amperage current of 100 has an average tensile strength value of 611.60 MPa and an average yield strength value of 368.48 MPa. GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) welding on SS304 material shows the maximum tensile strength stress value, macro examination, and penetrant test did not find any indication of defects such as cracks and porosity in motorcycle stainless exhaust welded joints.
