Abstract
ABSTRAK Pemakaian energi fosil setiap tahun meningkat dan pencemaran yang disebabkan ikut meningkat, hal tersebut membuat pemerintah dan para ilmuan di Indonesia mencari energi alternatif yang dapat diperbaharui dan ramah lingkungan. Salah satu sumber alternatif biomassa yaitu menggunakan makro alga atau rumput laut. Makro alga dapat diolah menjadi produk gas, cair dan padatan. Pada penelitian ini digunakan makro alga jenis Gracilaria Sp sebanyak 4 gram dengan pelarut aquades 60 gram yang dimasukkan ke dalam reaktor hidrotermal lalu dipanaskan sampai temperatur 220°C serta waktu penahanan 30, 60, dan 90 menit. Variasi tersebut bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis efek holding time terhadap produk dan yield yang dihasilkan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa semakin lama waktu penahan maka yield produk padatan (char) yang dihasilkan semakin meningkat. Untuk nilai kalor pada variasi waktu penahanan 30, 60, dan 90 menit menunjukkan nilai kalor tertinggi adalah pada saat variasi waktu 90 menit yaitu 5087.4175 Kcal/Kg, dikuti dengan waktu 60 menit dengan nilai kalor 4979.936 Kcal/Kg dan nilai kalor terendah pada waktu penahan 30 menit dengan nilai kalor 4683.7628 Kcal/Kg. Kata Kunci: Makro alga Gracilaria Sp, Holding Time, Hidrotermal, Biomassa, padat, kalor ABSTRACT The use of fossil energy every year increases and the pollution caused by a also increases, this makes the government and scientists in Indonesia look for alternative energy that is renewable and environmentally friendly. One alternative source of biomass is using macro algae or seaweed. Macro algae can be processed into gaseous, liquid and solid products. In this study, 4 grams of Gracilaria Sp macro-algae were used with a solvent of 60 grams of aquades which was inserted into a hydrothermal reactor and then heated to a temperature of 220 ° C and a holding time of 30, 60, and 90 minutes. The variation aims to find out and analyze the effect of holding time on the product and the yield produced. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the longer the holding time, the yield of the resulting solids (char) products increased. For calorific values at 30, 60, and 90 minute containment time variations, the highest calorific value is at the time variation of 90 minutes, which is 5087.4175 Kcal/Kg, followed by a time of 60 minutes with a calorific value of 4979.936 Kcal/Kg and the lowest calorific value at a holding time of 30 minutes with a calorific value of 4683.7628 Kcal/Kg..
