Abstract

Sewing machine is one kind of the packaging machines. Sewing machine is a production machine that used to package wheat flour products. nowadays time the lubrication of the outer part of the sewing machine is done manually by the operator so it takes more time, and the number of sewing machines is also a lot. The type of lubricant that used is a food grade hydraulic ISO VG 32. In manual lubrication the operator must lubricate the sewing machine every 30 minutes for ± 1 minute so that working hours become inefficient. in the manual lubrication cause the high consumption of lubricant , the average use of lubricants 600 ml / day. The inaccuracy of lubrication of the sewing machine components results in a high frequency of damage which results in downtime failure on the engine, as well as the large influence on the smoothness and quality of production in the flour industry. The auto lubrication system has the role to provide automatic lubrication of each component of the sewing machine. The purpose of this study is to make an automatic lubrication system, so that operators can cut the lubrication time of the sewing machine. Operators can do maximum work and reduce downtime maintenance. This automatic lubrication system works using valve timer solenoid coil 2/2 NC (normally closed) and push in t-connector and others pneumatic equipment. Valve solenoid coil timer is an electronic-mechanical component whose working principle resembles a faucet. This valve will be operated based on AC electricity through a coil / solenoid that can be set with a timer. Consumption of 56 ml per-shift lubricant, an average of 168 ml / day per sewing machine. Lubrication frequency every 15 minutes for 5 seconds with 1 bar air pressure. The automatic lubrication system using a solenoid coil valve timer can reduce lubricant consumption by up to 72% for one month. Minimizing the damage of the sewing machine components and alleviating the maintenance burden can reduces the downtime by an average of 78%. Keyword: sewing machine, manual lubrication, food grade lubricant, automatic lubricant system, valve timer solenoid coil. Sewing machine merupakan salah satu mesin pengemasan. Sewing machine adalah mesin produksi yang digunakan untuk mengemas produk tepung terigu. Pada saat ini pelumasan bagian terluar pada sewing machine dilakukan manual oleh operator sehingga memakan waktu yang lebih lama, ditambah jumlah sewing machine yang juga banyak. Jenis pelumas yang digunakan adalah hydraulic ISO VG 32 food grade. Pada pelumasan manual operator harus melumasi sewing machine tiap 30 menit selama ± 1 menit sehingga jam kerja menjadi tidak efisien. Konsumsi pelumas pada pelumasan secara manual yang tinggi, pemakaian pelumas rata-rata 600 ml/hari. Ketidaktepatan pelumasan terhadap komponen sewing machine mengakibatkan tingginya frekuensi kerusakan yang menimbulkan downtime kegagalan pada mesin, serta besarnya pengaruh terhadap kelancaran dan mutu produksi di industri tepung terigu. Auto lubrication system berperan untuk memberikan pelumasan secara otomatis kepada tiap komponen sewing machine. Tujuan dari penelitian ini membuat suatu sistem pelumasan otomatis, agar operator dapat memangkas waktu pelumasan pada sewing machine. Operator dapat melakukan pekerjaan maksimal serta mengurangi downtime maintenance. Sistem pelumasan otomatis ini bekerja menggunakan valve timer solenoid coil 2/2 NC(normally closed) dan push in t-connector serta peralatan pneumatik lainnya. Valve timer solenoid coil merupakan suatu komponen elektronika-mekanika yang prinsip kerjanya menyerupai kran. Katup ini akan dioperasikan berdasarkan arus listrik AC melalui kumparan/solenoid yang bisa diatur dengan timer. Konsumsi pelumas per-shift 56 ml, rata-rata 168 ml/hari per-sewing machine. Frekuensi pelumasan tiap 15 menit selama 5 detik dengan pressure udara 1 bar. Sistem pelumasan otomatis menggunakan valve timer solenoid coil ini dapat menurunkan konsumsi pelumas sampai dengan 72% selama satu bulan. Meminimalisir kerusakan komponen sewing machine dan meringankan beban maintenance menurunkan downtime mencapai rata-rata 78%.
