Abstract

ABSTRAK Modifikasi dilakukan karena adanya kebutuhan untuk menaikkan atau meningkatkan kapasitas maupun kinerja mesin, sebelum dilakukan modifikasi maka dilakukan proses desain, agar meminimalisir kemungkinan terjadinya kesalahan pada saat dilakukan modifikasi, software CAD (Computer Aided Design) dalam mendesain menggunakan software Autodesk Inventor. Mesin yang akan dimodifikasi adalah mesin uji puntir yang ada di laborotarium material universitas mercubuana. Mesin tersebut adalah salah satu pengujian untuk mengetahui sifat dan spesifikasi dari material logam dan komposit, metode yang digunakan untuk analisis beban puntir adalah standar ASTM E-143. Mesin uji puntir ini sistem penggerak menggunakan handle /setir secara manual, sehingga beda penguji yang memutar handle/setir, beda kecepatan yang diputar, hasil data yang didapat kurang akurat. Pada saat proses pengujian serpihan dari material berpotensi berhamburan/terpental kearah penguji, yang dapat membahayakan penguji, karena tidak ada cover pelindung pada mesin. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah didapatkan spesifikasi motor listrik untuk menggantikan sistem penggerak pada mesin uji puntir, spesifikasi motor memilik daya 90 watt, dengan putaran 120 rpm. sehingga hasil lebih akuran dan stabil. Selanjutnya Penambahan box operation untuk meletakkan tombol On, Off, dan tombol emergency stop. Box operation machine untuk memutarkan, memberhentikan putaran motor listrik, dan memberhentikan dengan cepat/paksa motor listrik dalam kondisi darurat. Box Operation machine dengan ukuran Panjang 195 mm, lebar 70 mm, tinggi 65 mm dan tebal box 2.3 mm. terakhir Penambahan cover pelindung di area spesimen sehingga mesin lebih aman digunakaan. Untuk ukuran cover yaitu panjang 250 mm, lebar 350 mm, tinggi 244 mm. dan tebal cover 2.3mm. Kata Kunci: Modifikasi Desain Mesin Uji Puntir, Motor Listrik, Emergency Stop, Cover Pelindung. ABSTRACT Modifications are made because there is a need to increase or increase the capacity or performance of the machine, before modifications are made, a design process is carried out, in order to minimize the possibility of errors when modifications are made, CAD software (Computer Aided Design) is designed using Autodesk Inventor software. The machine to be modified is a torsion testing machine in the Materials Laboratory of Mercubuana University. The machine is one of the tests to determine the properties and specifications of metal and composite materials, the method used for torsion load analysis is ASTM E-143 standard. This torsion testing machine drive system uses the handle/steering wheel manually, so that the different testers rotate the handle/steering wheel, the different speeds are rotated, the results of the data obtained are less accurate. During the testing process, flakes of material have the potential to scatter/bounce towards the tester, which can endanger the tester, because there is no protective cover on the machine. The results of this research are the specifications of the electric motor to replace the propulsion system on the torsion test machine, the motor specifications have a power of 90 watts, with a rotation of 124 rpm. so the results are more accurate and stable. Furthermore, the addition of an operation box to place the On, Off, and emergency stop buttons. Box operation machine to rotate, stop electric motor rotation, and quickly / forcefully stop electric motors in emergency conditions. Box Operation machine with a length of 195 mm, a width of 70 mm, a height of 65 mm and a box thickness of 2.3 mm. finally the addition of a protective cover in the specimen area so that the machine is safer to use. The size of the cover is 250 mm long, 350 mm wide and 244 mm high. and the cover thickness is 2.3mm.
