Abstract
The large number of motorists user who pass through Jalan Raya Bogor in Kilometer 19, make this area growing from the side of the development, economic and social. The impact of these developments utilize the land owners to erect the building as a support for the activities of the motorists and citizens. Many trade areas have sprung up along Jalan Raya Bogor Km.19, both formal and informal. Informal sector here only as a supporter of the formal sector, but the presence of street vendors around this location is hard to predict. His presence was irregular on the pattern of use of the space. From the case studies are taken there are several parties involved in the management of street vendors, but it is not clear as to what they are setting patterns. This study will explain the process and describe their beginnings and their characteristic usage patterns characteristic street vendors. With a qualitative descriptive approach that determines the sharpness and sensitivity of thinking researchers. Key Words : space usage patterns, informal area, characteristic of street vendors Banyaknya pengguna kendaraan bermotor yang melewati Jalan Raya Bogor di Kilometer 19 membuat daerah ini berkembang dari sisi pembangunan, ekonomi maupun sosial. Dampak perkembangan tersebut dimanfaatkan para pemilik lahan untuk mendirikan bangunan sebagai penunjang aktifitas para pengendara kendaraan bermotor dan warga. Banyak area perdagangan bermunculan di sepanjang jalan Raya Bogor Km.19, baik formal maupun informal. Sektor Informal disini hanya sebagai pendukung sektor formal, namun kehadiran pedagang kaki lima (PKL) pada sekitar lokasi ini sulit untuk ditebak. Kehadirannya pun tidak teratur dari pola penggunaan ruangnya. Dari studi kasus yang diambil terdapat beberapa pihak yang berperan dalam manajemen PKL, tapi belum jelas seperti apa pola pengaturan mereka. Penelitian ini akan menjelaskan proses awal mula mereka dan menggambarkan pola penggunaan ruang beserta karakteristik PKL. Dengan pendekatan yang bersifat deskriptif kualitatif yang menekankan ketajaman serta kepekaan berpikir peneliti. Kata Kunci : penggunaan ruang, sektor informal, karakteristik pedagang kaki lima
