Abstract
Increasing development of an urban area triggers an increase in population accompanied by the need for housing. To facilitate comfort and safety for residents of housing, one of the ways the developer is to provide a residential guardrail. However, often the use of housing boundaries creates new problems in the area around the housing boundaries. This study aims to evaluate the application of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) in the corridor of the Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM) road as a liaison of Kampung Cicentang and Kampung Salem which are directly adjacent to the housing of De ’Latinos. In this research, the method used is descriptive qualitative, which begins with field observations by presenting a descriptive description that contains field data and comparison to the standards that should be, then distributing questionnaires by exploring community perceptions of the existence of the boundaries of De 'Latinos Housing. The results of a series of data analyzes found that the road corridor had not fully applied the CPTED concept. The statement was obtained from the results of field measurements that have not fully met the standards and is supported by statements from respondents about feeling comfortable and safe when crossing the road corridor. Keywords: Housing Boundaries, Road Corridors, CPTED Semakin berkembangnya suatu kawasan perkotaan maka memicu meningkatnya jumlah penduduk yang diiringi dengan kebutuhan akan hunian. Untuk memfasilitasi kenyamanan dan keamanan bagi warga penghuni perumahan, salah satu cara pihak pengembang adalah dengan memberikan pagar pembatas perumahan. Namun, seringkali penggunaan batas pada perumahan tersebut memberikan masalah baru pada kawasan sekitar batas perumahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penerapan Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) pada koridor jalan Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM) sebagai penghubung Kampung Cicentang dan Kampung Salem yang berbatasan fisik langsung dengan perumahan De’ Latinos. Dalam penelitian ini metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif yang diawali dengan dilakukannya observasi lapangan dengan menyajikan gambaran deskriptif yang berisikan data-data lapangan dan pembandingnya terhadap standar yang seharusnya, selanjutnya dilakukannya penyebaran kuesioner dengan menggali persepsi masyarakat terhadap keberadaan batas perumahan De’ Latinos.Hasil dari serangkaian analisis data didapatkan bahwa koridor jalan belum sepenuhnya menerapkan konsep CPTED. Pernyataan itu didapatkan dari hasil pengukuran lapangan yang belum sepenuhnya memenuhi standar dan didukung oleh pernyataan dari responden mengenai rasa nyaman dan aman ketika melintasi koridor jalan tersebut.
