Abstract
Cover album menjadi salah satu strategi untuk memperkenalkan suatu karya musik atau lagu kepada audiens. Ilustrasi pada cover album dapat mengkomunikasikan secara visual pesan-pesan, idealisme dan ideologi sebuah band. Ilustrasi yang dibuat unik dan menarik dapat dijadikan identitas yang meningkatkan branding band itu sendiri. Cover album menjadi media visual utama yang dapat mempengaruhi audiens dan mendukung daya jual album musik yang beredar dipasaran. Pada ilustrasi cover album “This Is What I Said” perancang membuat ilustrasi dengan gaya Doodle Art yang dikombinasikan dengan konsep warna Pop Art. Pemilihan konsep ini menyesuaikan dengan genre musik Basic Evolution Band yaitu Pop Punk. Gaya Doodle Art didesain dengan gambar acak karena konsep dari Doodle Art adalah gambar abstrak. Pemilihan warna dengan konsep Pop Art bertujuan agar ilustrasi cover album terkesan lebih modern dan dapat menarik perhatian audiens. Ilustrasi ini bertujuan untuk mempromosikan album baru Basic Evolution Band yang dapat dijadikan sebagai identitas dari album yang diciptakan.
