Abstract

Saunas are rooms with hot or dry temperatures that are used to help the body's metabolism and burn more calories. Sauna facilities are usually permanent and can only be found in certain places, such as gyms or hotels. This is an obstacle for most people to be able to do sauna activities regularly. Thus, this study aims to facilitate sauna activities without the need to go to a certain place. The design of portable sauna equipment uses the VDI 2222 method by selecting the required material design using 3 design variations and then eliminating them to produce the best design variations. The thermal comfort standard was tested using the ISO 7730 method on 10 respondeagede of 19 – 27 years and varied body weights. Testing portable sauna equipment that has 4 different temperature variations in the chamber 55,4, 58,9, 63,2 and 67,8Ԩ. The portable Sauna has been able to function as needed and has been tested on 10 respondents. Key Words: design, portable sauna, VDI 2222 Sauna merupakan ruangan dengan temperatur panas atau kering yang digunakan untuk membantu metabolisme tubuh dan membakar lebih banyak kalori. Fasilitas sauna biasanya bersifat permanen dan hanya dapat ditemui di tempat-tempat tertentu saja, seperti di pusat kebugaran atau di hotel-hotel. Hal inilah yang menjadi kendala bagi sebagian besar masyarakat untuk dapat melakukan kegiatan sauna secara rutin. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempermudah kegiatan sauna tanpa perlu menuju ke tempat tertentu. Perancangan alat sauna portabel menggunakan metode VDI 2222 dengan melakukan pemilihan desain material yang dibutuhkan menggunakan 3 variasi desain, lalu dieliminasi sehingga menghasilkan variasi desain yang terbaik. Standar kenyamanan termal diuji menggunakan metode ISO 7730 pada 10 responden dengan rentang usia 19 – 27 tahun dan mempunyai berat badan yang variatif. Pengujian alat sauna portabel yang memiliki 4 variasi temperatur yang berbeda di dalam bilik yaitu 55,4, 58,9, 63,2 dan 67,8Ԩ. Alat Sauna portabel sudah dapat berfungsi sesuai kebutuhan dan telah diujicobakan pada 10 responden. Kata kunci: rancang bangun, sauna portabel, VDI 2222
