Abstract

Air pollution is a process of human activity that produces output from the production sector and the transportation sector, resulting in an increase in polluting substances and causing health problems. In an effort to improve health and improve the quality of life, there are needs that are always growing, such as portable oxygen concentrator devices, with medical standard oxygen supply, namely with a purity of 82 - 92%. The tests carried out were experimental tests with the Pressure Swing Adsorption system. In this zeolite 4A and 5A adsorbent test using a pressure of 2 bar, temperatures of 24 and 11 ℃, and mass of 700 grams and 800 grams. The best zeolite in producing pure oxygen in this test is found in zeolite 4A with the highest pure oxygen yield of 80.3% at an ON-OFF system time of 20 seconds, temperature 11 ℃ and a mass of 700 grams. Meanwhile, zeolite 5A with an ON-OFF system time of 20 seconds at a temperature of 11 ℃ with a mass of 700 grams is only able to produce oxygen purity, namely 66.6% purity. Thus, in the Pressure Swing Adsorption system, the use of zeolite 4A produces a better purity level than zeolite 5A. Keywords: Oxygen, Pressure Swing Adsorption, Zeolite Polusi udara adalah proses aktivitas manusia yang menghasilkan output dari sektor produksi maupun sektor transportasi, sehingga mengakibatkan meningkatnya zat pencemar dan menyebabkan gangguan pada kesehatan. Dalam upaya meningkatkan kesehatan dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup maka ada kebutuhan yang selalu berkembang, seperti alat oksigen konsentrator portabel, dengan pasokan oksigen standar medis yaitu dengan kemurnian 82 – 92%. Pengujian yang dilakukan yaitu pengujian eksprimental dengan sistem Pressure Swing Adsorption. Pada pengujian adsorben zeolit 4A dan 5A menggunakan tekanan 2 bar, temperatur 24 dan 11℃, dan massa 700 dan 800 gram. Zeolit terbaik dalam menghasikan oksigen murni pada pengujian ini terdapat pada zeolit 4A dengan hasil oksigen murni tertinggi yaitu 80,3 % pada waktu sistem ON-OFF 20 detik temperatur 11 ℃ dan massa 700 gram. Sedangkan pada zeolit 5A dengan waktu sistem ON-OFF 20 detik tempratur 11 ℃ dengan massa 700 gram hanya mampu menghasilkan kemurnian oksigen yaitu 66,6 % kemurnian. Dengan demikian pada sistem Pressure Swing Adsorption penggunaan zeolit 4A menghasilkan tingkat kemurnian lebih baik dibandingkan dengan zeolit 5A.
