Abstract

Aircraft is air transportation that uses high technology. One of the aircraft components is the engine. In the world of aviation, maintenance is very important to do so that each component is in airworthy condition. After maintenance, the engine will undergo a run-up test to be able to certify its flightworthiness. One of the most important factors in the run up test is the Exhaut Gas Temperature value below 908˚C. There are engines that experience fail tests because the EGT value is 916˚C. The test failure due to minus on EGT is caused by several factors. The influencing factors are component damage to the High Pressure Turbine (HPT) and Low Pressure Turbine (LPT). The purpose of this research is to analyze the causes of minus 8 ˚C EGTM on High Pressure Turbine (HPT) and Low Pressure Turbine (LPT). In this research, a failure analysis will be carried out on the HPT and LPT using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method to determine the problems that occur in the HPT and LPT sections. The result of this study is to find out the cause of the EGT value of 916˚C. After knowing the source of failure, repairs will be carried out in the form of repair or replacement of parts with new ones. After that, a run-up test will be carried out to see the success of this study. Keywords: exhaust gas temperature, high pressure turbine, low pressure turbine, failure mode and effect analysis Pesawat merupakan transportasi udara yang menggunakan teknologi tinggi. Salah satu komponen pesawat adalah engine. Dalam dunia penerbangan, perawatan sangat penting untuk dilakukan agar tiap-tiap komponen dalam kondisi yang layak terbang. Setelah dilakukan perawatan, engine akan dilakukan tes run up untuk dapat menyatakan kelayakan terbang. Salah satu faktor terpenting dalam tes run up adalah nilai Exhaut Gas Temperature dibawah 908˚C. Terdapat engine yang mengalami fail test karena nilai EGT 916˚C. Kegagalan tes karena minus pada EGT disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi adalah kerusakan komponen pada High Pressure Turbine (HPT) dan Low Pressure Turbine (LPT). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis penyebab EGTM minus 8 ˚C pada High Pressure Turbine (HPT) dan Low Pressure Turbine (LPT). Dalam penelitian ini akan dilakukan analisis kegagalan pada HPT dan LPT dengan metode Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) untuk menentukan permasalahan yang terjadi pada bagian HPT dan LPT. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui penyebab nilai EGT 916˚C. Setelah mengetahui sumber kegagalan maka akan dilakukan perbaikan berupa repair atau penggantian part dengan yang baru. Setelah itu akan dilakukan tes run up untuk melihan keberhasilah pada penelitian ini.
