Abstract

PT RXI Tbk is a company that produces vechile tires. In it’s production process PT RXI Tbk has a struggle on quality management. Based on data already collected, there is dominant defect which is FMR defect. In order to overcomes that problem towards the root cause by using Define, Measure, Analysis, Improve Control (DMAIC) method and also using Failure Mode Efect Analysis (FMEA) method to analyze the problem solving step. After processing the data, the primary caused has found that is Manual Blowing with 504 RPN value, afterwards RA material liquid sticked on GIP-GOP Tray with 408 RPN value. In order to solve those problems the improvement planning has been proposed by modified the Manual Blowing System became Auto Blow System and revising Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) of Tray clean up that previously only conducted 1 time on a shift became 1 time every 25 cycle. Based on improvement step that has been proposed, there are a defect percentage decrement around average 4,03% and increase sigma value that previously approximately 3,10 became 3,27. Keywords : Blowing, Tray, DMAIC, and FMEA PT RXI Tbk merupakan sebuah perusahaan yang memproduksi ban kendaraan, dalam proses produksinya PT RXI Tbk masih memiliki kendala dalam proses pengendalian kualitas. Berdasarkan data yang telah dikumpulkan, terdapat defect dominan yaitu jenis defect FMR. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dilakukan analisa terhadap akar permasalahan menggunakan metode DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analysis, Improve Control) serta analisa penyelesaian masalah menggunakan metode FMEA (Failure Mode Efect Analysis). Setelah dilakukan pengolahan data, ditemukan penyebab kegagalan utama yaitu proses Manual Blowing dengan nilai RPN sebesar 504, lalu cairan material RA yang menempel pada Tray GIP-GOP dengan nilai RPN sebesar 408. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut diajukan rencana perbaikan dengan cara memodifikasi Sistem Manual Blowing menjadi Auto Blowing System serta pembuatan SOP pembersihan Tray yang tadinya dilakukan 1 kali dalam 1 shift menjadi 1 kali setelah 25 cycle. Dari perbaikan yang diusulkan, terdapat penurunan presentase defect rata-rata sebesar 4,03% dan meningkatkan nilai sigma yang sebelumnya sebesar 3,10 menjadi 3,27.
