Abstract

The Research and Development (RND) Department has an important role in making product innovation. So that the implementation of the trial conducted by RND must be completed on time in order to launch the product according to the target of PT Paragon Technology and Innovation. However, when in the field, there were various obstacles in the trial process. From March 2019 to April 2020, the average percentage of obstacles that occurred, especially in skincare products, was 11.12%. The company itself has a maximum target of 5% constraints. The Quality Control Circle (QCC) method is applied to evaluate and correct these constraints. After observation, it was found that the raw material constraints were not enough 50.8%; machine queuing constraints 19.8%; human error constraints 11.8%; panel constraints of 9.3% and confirmation constraints of 8.4%. A raw material database management was created in the RND warehouse as well as the warehouse special PIC to reduce the biggest obstacle, namely raw materials. And the results of improvements to the raw material management system in the RND warehouse were proven to reduce the percentage of obstacles that occurred during the trial process to 6.82%. Keywords: Quality Control Circle, ConstrainPts, Improvement, Trial Departemen Research and Development (RND) memiliki peranan penting dalam melakukan inovasi produk. Sehingga pelaksanaan trial yang dilakukan RND harus selesai tepat waktu agar dapat launching produk sesuai dengan target PT Paragon Technology and Innovation. Namun ketika di lapangan, terjadi beragam kendala dalam pelaksanaan proses trial. Periode Maret 2019 hingga April 2020 diperoleh rata-rata persentase kendala yang terjadi khususnya pada produk skincare sebesar 11,12%. Perusahaan sendiri memiliki target maksimal kendala yang terjadi sebesar 5%. Diterapkan metode Quality Control Circle (QCC) untuk evaluasi dan perbaikan kendala tersebut. Setelah pengamatan didapatkan kendala bahan baku tidak cukup 50,8% ; kendala antri mesin 19,8% ; kendala human error 11,8% ; kendala panel 9,3% serta kendala konfirmasi 8,4%. Dibuat manajemen database bahan baku di gudang RND serta adanya PIC khusus gudang guna mengurangi kendala terbesar yaitu bahan baku. Dan hasil dari perbaikan pada sistem manajemen bahan baku di gudang RND terbukti bisa menurunkan persentase kendala yang terjadi pada pelaksanaan proses trial menjadi 6,82%.
