Abstract

Through Presidential Regulation No. 22 of 2017 and RUPTL 2021-2030 have set a target for the utilization of New and Renewable Energy (EBT) of 23% in 2025 with one of the agendas being to co-use biomass with coal (Co-firing) in several CFSPP in the hope of reducing emissions GHG. In 2021 PLN has implemented Co-firing at 26 PLTUs with the realization of Co-firing energy of 215.7 GWh or the equivalent of using 232.2 thousand tonnes of biomass. One of the CFSPP that has implemented Co-firing is Jeranjang CFSPP Unit 1, but according to operational data of PLTU Jeranjang, there are indications of reduced eFFiciency in Unit 1 which has implemented Co-firing. The purpose of this study is to identify indications of decreased boiler eFFiciency due to heat loss and to analyze the factors that influence it due to the application of Co-firing using the indirect calculation method in accordance with ASME PTC Standard 4.1 with field data collection methodology through operators at DCS when the unit is operating Co-firing and full firing of coal. According to the calculation results analysis, it can be concluded that the application of co-firing using biomass with a percentage of 4.1% and 3.5% at Jeranjang CFSPP Unit 1 does not appear to significantly aFFect boiler eFFiciency even though there are indications of a decrease when compared to full firing coal conditions, the greatest heat loss is caused by: 1) dry exhaust gas (L1); 2) evaporation of water formed from the H2 content in the fuel (L2); and the water content in the fuel (L3) and the factors that most influence boiler eFFiciency due to the application of cofiring include exhaust gas temperature (Tf), fuel calorific value (GCV of fuel) and fuel content used. Keywords: CFSPP, coal, Co-firing, eficiency, boiler Melalui Peraturan Presiden No. 22 Tahun 2017 dan RUPTL tahun 2021-2030 telah ditetapkan target pemanfaatan Energi Baru dan Tebarukan (EBT) sebesar 23% pada tahun 2025 dengan salah satu agendanya adalah melakukan Co-firing pada beberapa PLTU dengan harapan dapat menurunkan emisi GRK. Pada tahun 2021 PLN telah melakukan implementasi Co-firing pada 26 PLTU dengan realisasi energi Co-firing sebesar 215,7 GWh atau setara dengan penggunaan biomassa sebesar 232,2 ribu ton, salah satu PLTU yang telah menerapkan Co-firing adalah PLTU Jeranjang Unit 1, namun sesuai dengan data pengoperasian PLTU Jeranjang, terdapat indikasi penurunan efisiensi pada Unit 1 yang menerapkan Co-firing. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi indikasi penurunan efisiensi boiler karena kehilangan panas dan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya akibat dari penerapan Co-firing dengan menggunakan metode perhitungan tidak langsung sesuai dengan Standar ASME PTC 4.1 dengan metodologi pengambilan data lapangan melalui operator di DCS pada saat unit beroperasi Co-firing dan full firing batubara. Sesuai dengan hasil perhitungan dan analisis, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan co-firing menggunakan biomassa dengan persentase 4,1% dan 3,5% di PLTU Jeranjang Unit 1 tidak terlihat siginifikan mempengaruhi efisiensi boiler walaupun terlihat adanya indikasi penurunan apabila dibandingkan dengan kondisi full firing batubara, kehilangan panas terbesar disebabkan oleh: 1) gas buang kering (L1); 2) penguapan air yang terbentuk dari kandungan H2 pada bahan bakar (L2); dan kadar air di bahan bakar (L3) dan faktor yang paling mempengaruhi efisiensi boiler karena penerapan co-firing antara lain temperatur gas buang (Tf), Nilai kalor bahan bakar (GCV of fuel) dan kandungan bahan bakar yang digunakan.
