Abstract

CV. 3 Bintang Bersaudara is a place of business that produces household needs and wood-based industries. One of the products it produces is a minimalist wall shelf. In the period January – December 2021 minimalist wall shelf products are the products with the most defects. CV. 3 Bintang Bersaudara have a product defect tolerance limit of 5% of the total production, but minimalist wall shelf products have a defect of 5.64% during the January-December 2021 period. This research aims to find out the types of defects that occur in wall shelf products, identify the causes of minimalist wall shelf defects and provide improvement suggestions to reduce the number of defects in the future. In this research the method used is DMAIC. In the minimalist wall shelf production process, 4 types of defects were found. Based on the Pareto diagram, it was determined that the type of lacquer defect was not suitable to be the most dominant type of defect, namely 80.1%, it was also found that the DPMO value and sigma value on minimalist wall shelves were 14,100 and 3.69. Based on the analysis of the fishbone diagram method and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), it is known that the main root cause of product defects is a dirty, dusty and windy environment with an RPN (Risk Priority Number) value of 448. Analysis was carried out using the 5W + 1H approach to find improvements to overcome the problems that occur, obtained suggestions for improvements for the company, namely making work area picket schedules, making closed work areas, daily and monthly check sheet forms for maintenance of work tools, making varnish process work instructions, making training schedules for operators and submitting additional goods forms. Keywords: Quality, Quality Control, DMAIC, Six Sigma CV. 3 Bintang Bersaudara merupakan sebuah tempat usaha yang memproduksi kebutuhan-kebutuhan rumah tangga dan industri berbasis kayu. Salah satu produk yang diproduksinya adalah rak dinding minimalis. Pada periode Januari – Desember 2021 produk rak dinding minimalis menjadi produk dengan jumlah defect yang paling banyak. CV. 3 Bintang bersaudara memiliki batas toleransi produk defect sebesar 5% dari total keseluruhan produksi, namun produk rak dinding minimalis memiliki defect sebesar 5,64% sepanjang periode JanuariDesember 2021. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis defect yang terjadi pada produk rak dinding, mengidentifikasi penyebab defect rak dinding minimalis dan memberikan usulan-usulan perbaikan untuk menurunkan jumlah defect kedepannya. Pada peneliitian ini metode yang digunakan adalah DMAIC. Pada proses produksi rak dinding minimalis ditemukan 4 jenis defect yang terjadi. Bedasarkan diagram pareto ditetapkan jenis defect pernis tidak sesuai menjadi jenis defect yang paling dominan yaitu sebesar 80,1%, ditemukan juga nilai DPMO dan nilai sigma pada rak dinding minimalis sebesar 14.100 dan 3,69. Berdasarkan analisa metode fishbone diagram dan Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), diketahui akar penyebab utama dari terjadinya produk defect adalah lingkungan yang kotor berdebu dan berangin dengan nilai RPN (Risk Priority Number) sebesar 448. Dilakukan analisa menggunakan pendekatan 5W + 1H untuk mencari perbaikan untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang terjadi, didapatkan usulan perbaikan untuk perusahaan yaitu pembuatan jadwal piket area kerja, pembuatan area kerja tertutup, form checksheet harian dan bulanan untuk maintenance alat kerja, pembuatan instruksi kerja proses pernis, pembuatan jadwal pelatihan bagi operator dan form pengajuan penambahan barang.
