Abstract

Handover Failure is the process of failure to transfer traffic channels from one site to another in a continuous communication link. Currently, data communication services are something that has become a daily necessity for everyone in long-distance interactions. So that requires providers to provide the best infrastructure so that there is no interruption in long-distance communication. Determination handover failure in an area that has a population density can be useful as a signal enhancement recommendation area. To improve the quality of these services, this study uses the method drive test to focus on discussing the 4G network in the Pekalongan area, Central Java as a research location. The field data collection process is carried out using an application Teams pocket. Which data can be processed using the application Tems Discovery, Tems Investigation and Map Info. In analyzing data services on 4G networks, parameters are used coverage and quality which is based on comparative values Key Performance Indicator (KPI) to determine the condition of the network in an area. Based on the results of the analysis obtained 5 locations handover failure where this condition occurs in the deep signal bad range namely in the range below -100 dbm and site currently down. So that in this condition it is necessary to optimize the 4G network so that data services in the area are good. Keywords : 4G, Drive test, Coverage, Quality, Handover Handover Failure merupakan proses kegagalan perpindahan kanal trafik dari suatu site ke site lainnya dalam hubungan komunikasi yang berkelanjutan. Saat ini layanan komunikasi data merupakan sesuatu yang telah menjadi kebutuhan sehari-hari bagi setiap orang dalam interaksi jarak jauh. Sehingga menuntut provider untuk menyedia infrastruktur terbaik agar tidak adanya gangguan dalam komunikasi jarak jauh. Penentuan handover failure dalam suatu daerah yang memiliki kepadatan penduduk dapat berguna sebagai daerah rekomendasi peningkatan sinyal. Dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas layanan tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan metode drivetest dengan fokus membahas jaringan 4G di wilayah Pekalongan Jawa Tengah sebagai tempat penelitian. Proses pengambilan data lapangan dilakukan dengan menggunakan aplikasi TEMS pocket. Data mana yang dapat diolah menggunakan aplikasi Tems Discovery, Tems Investigation dan Map Info. Dalam menganalisa layanan data pada jaringan 4G, digunakan parameter cakupan dan kualitas yang didasarkan pada nilai perbandingan Key Performance Indicator (KPI) untuk mengetahui kondisi jaringan di suatu wilayah. Berdasarkan hasil analisis didapatkan 5 lokasi handover failure dimana kondisi ini terjadi pada sinyal yang berada dalam jangkauan yang buruk yaitu pada kisaran dibawah -100 dbm dan situs sedang down. Sehingga pada kondisi ini perlu dilakukan optimalisasi jaringan 4G agar layanan data di kawasan tersebut menjadi baik. Kata kunci : 4G, Drive test, Coverage, Quality, Handover
