Abstract

At this time, the development and use of technology in the industrial world have experienced very rapid development and progress. Thus, the industrial world is starting to switch from conventional tools and machines to more sophisticated and modern tools and machines whose controls are automatic. The sorting of goods is mostly done in the industrial world. Sorting goods can be done by grouping them by type, color, weight, size, or shape. Sorting can be done manually using human power or automatically with machines. Some sorting of goods in the industry is still done manually using human power because human nature is easily tired, so the speed and accuracy in classifying goods can be reduced or experience a decrease in performance. It is necessary to have a sorting control device that works automatically, which can minimize or eliminate human error. A control system or industrial automation is a collection of tools designed to control, command, and regulate the state of a process or system. Control systems that are commonly used today are Arduino, PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), Microcontrollers, and others. This shows that the control system is very important in helping run a production process in an industry. In this design, the sorting of goods is carried out automatically using a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) as a control device, a conveyor as a means of moving goods, and a photoelectric sensor as a sensor to distinguish between high and low.
