Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the attenuation of a fiber to the home network with gigabit passive optical network technology using the link power budget method in Koja Village, RW 03 Rawabadak, West Jakarta. The need for high-speed and large-capacity communication in the telecommunications sector is currently experiencing very rapid development, especially the development of internet-based services. Transmission line technology using fiber optic. Fiber optic is a technology that provides large bandwidth capacity at high speed, not influenced by electromagnetic wave interference. In line with the rapid development of the use of optical fiber as a conducting medium, there is a possibility of loss of information due to losses from fiber optic cable lengthening or fiber optic cable splicing. These are attenuation in the application of the link power budget method, parameters to test the feasibility of the standard FTTH network system from ITU-T 984, the results of calculations using the 2 closest ODP samples from ODC show that the total attenuation is appropriate or categorized as reliable, this is according to the attenuation value of ITU-T 984 with a maximum attenuation value of 27 dBm. Keywords: gigabit passive optical network, link power budget, attenuation, FTTH. Skripsi ditulis untuk menganalisa redaman pada jaringan fiber to the home dengan teknologi gigabit passive optical network menggunakan metode link power budget di Kelurahan Koja RW 03 Rawabadak Jakarta Utara. Kebutuhan komunikasi berkecepatan tinggi dan berkapasitas besar dalam bidang telekomunikasi saat ini mengalami perkembangan yang sangat pesat, terutama perkembangan layanan-layanan berbasis internet. Teknologi saluran transmisi dengan menggunakan fiber optic. Fiber optic merupakan teknologi yang menyediakan kapasitas bandwith besar dengan kecepatan tinggi, tidak dipengaruhi interferensi gelombang elektromagnetik, Sejalan dengan berkembang secara pesatnya penggunaan serat optik sebagai medium penghantar, ada kemungkinan terjadinya hilang informasi akibat kerugian dari pemanjangan kabel fiber optic ataupun penyambungan kabel fiber optic, kerugian tersebut yaitu redaman dalam penerapan metode link power budget, parameter untuk menguji kelayakan sistem jaringan FTTH yang telah standar dari ITU-T 984, pada hasil perhitungan dengan menggunakan 2 buah sampel ODP yang terdekat dari ODC menunjukan bahwa redaman total sesuai atau berkategori andal, hal ini sesuai dengan nilai redaman ITU-T 984 dengan nilai redaman maksmial 27 dBm. Kata kunci : gigabit passive optical network, link power budget, redaman, FTTH.
