Abstract

Along with the development of information technology in everyday life, especially the people of Indonesia and in the world in general. The big and significant changes that occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic made people who often interact faceto-face now prefer to communicate virtually. In line with these dynamics, many government agencies are also implementing digital services where public services can now be carried out electronically. Data leaks that often occur in Indonesia are inseparable from the growing development of digital technology which was indirectly pioneered by the Covid-19 pandemic which made many parties want to benefit from user data. This research is intended to increase security in terms of database encrypted using the AES 256 algorithm method on the Employee Performance Assessment web application. The difference with previous related studies lies in the use of the AES method. If in previous research AES encryption was made on web application URLs so that hackers cannot break into them from URLs that are visible in the browser using sniffer software such as Wireshark, the authors put the AES algorithm on the database side so that when a data leak occurs, even though the hacker can see the contents of the database, but still can't use user data because it's encrypted. Key Words : Algoritma, AES 256, Database, Aplikasi, PHP. Seiring berkembangnya teknologi informasi dalam keseharian khususnya masyarakat Indonesia dan di dunia pada umumnya. Perubahan besar dan signifikan yang terjadi pada saat pandemi Covid-19 membuat perilaku masyarakat yang sering berinteraksi secara tatap muka kini lebih memilih untuk berkomunikasi secara virtual. Sejalan dengan dinamika tersebut, banyak instansi pemerintahan pun menerapkan layanan-layanan digital dimana pelayanan publik kini bisa dilakukan secara elektronik. Kebocoran data di Indonesia yang kerap terjadi tak luput dari semakin berkembangnya teknologi digital yang secara tidak langsung di pelopori oleh pandemi Covid-19 yang membuat banyak pihak ingin mendapatkan keuntungan dari data pengguna. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menambah keamanan dari segi basis data yang dienkripsi menggunakan metode algoritma AES 256 pada aplikasi web Penilaian Kinerja Pegawai. Perbedaan dengan penelitian terkait sebelumnya adalah terletak pada penggunaan metode AES. Jika pada penelitian sebelumnya dibuat enkripsi AES pada URL aplikasi web agar tidak dapat dibobol peretas dari URL yang terlihat di browser menggunakan software sniffer seperti wireshark, penulis meletakkan algoritma AES pada sisi basis data agar saat terjadi kebocoran data, walaupun peretas bisa melihat isi basis data namun tetap tidak dapat menggunakan data pengguna karena telah ter-enkripsi.
