Abstract

This research study about the relationship of phubbing - the behavior of someone who ignores interaction with others in a communication setting and prefers to focus on their mobile phones, the aim of this study is to see the relationship of phubbing to the friendship quality in generation Z teenagers using a quantitative approach, sampling techniques using convenience sampling was done with N = 200 participants, while the criteria used were those aged adolescents with an age range of 11-18 years, data were taken using the FQUA (Friendship Quality Scale) 26 items (α =, 983) statements and GSP (Generalized Scale of Phubbing) 24 items statement (α =, 930), hypothesis analysis used is Pearson Product Momment with Significant Positive results sig. 0.001 < 0.01 (Rxy=. 235) results that there is a significant positive relationship between phubbing with the quality of friendship of generation Z adolescents. Keywords : Phubbing,, Friendship Quality, Generation Z Penelitian ini meneliti mengenai hubungan pengabaian karena telepon genggam atau Phubbing- Perilaku seseorang yang mengabaikan interaksi dengan orang lain didalam setting komunikasi dan lebih memilih fokus terhadap telepon genggam mereka, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat hubungan phubbing terhadap kualitas persahabatan remaja generasi Z menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, teknik pengambilan sampel yang dilakukan adalah convenience sampling dengan N = 200 partisipan, sementara kriteria yang digunakan adalah mereka yang berusia remaja dengan rentang usia 11- 18 tahun, data diambil dengan menggunakan FQUA ( Friendship Quality Scale) 26 item (α= ,983) pernyataan dan GSP ( Generalized Scale of Phubbing ) 24 item pernyataan (α =,930) , analisa hipotesis yang digunakan adalah Pearson Product Momment dengan hasil Positif Signifikan sig.0,001 < 0,01 (Rxy = ,235) menghasilkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif signifikan antara phubbing dengan kualitas persahabatan remaja generasi Z.
