Abstract

Highfield Secondary School was teaching online when the Covid-19 emerged in Indonesia, so the working time of the teachers exceeded the predetermined capacity. This result in a maximum demand for teaching with limited circumstances will result in complaints. This study aims to analyze the mental workload and work stress experienced by Highfield Secondary School teachers since the complaints they experienced during online teaching and propose improvements to new teaching methods for teachers who have a high mental workload to reduce their workload. The method used in this research is SPSS and NASA-TLX. The research method used is descriptive quantitative by distributing questionnaires and using NASA-TLX to calculate mental workload. The conclusion of this study is to calculate the NASA-TLX score, work stress, and propose improvements to new teaching methods. Keywords: NASA-TLX, Mental workload, new teaching method Sekolah Highfield Secondary School melakukan pengajaran secara daring ketika munculnya Covid-19 di Indonesia, sehingga waktu bekerja guru-guru melebihi kapasitas yang sudah ditentukan. Hal ini mengakibatkan permintaan pengajaran yang maksimal dengan keadaan yang terbatas akan mengakibatkan keluhankeluhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis beban kerja mental dan stres kerja yang dialami guru-guru Highfield Secondary School sejak keluhan yang dialami selama mengajar daring dan memberi usulan perbaikan metode pengajaran yang baru untuk guru-guru yang memiliki beban kerja mental tinggi agar beban kerjanya berkurang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan SPSS dan NASA-TLX. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menyebar kuesioner dan menggunakan NASA-TLX untuk menghitung beban kerja mental. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah menghitung skor NASA-TLX, stres kerja, dan memberi usulan perbaikan metode pengajaran yang baru.
