Abstract

Chicken seed production and egg hatchability have not been efficient because chicken farmers generally still use manual egg hatchers. For this reason, it is necessary to have an automatic chicken egg incubator to be more efficient. The making of this tool aims to 1. build microcontroller based hardware and software for automatic egg incubators, 2. to know the performance of a microcontroller based automatic egg incubator system. The method used in making egg incubators with automatic sliding rack based on microcontrollers consists of several stages, namely (1) identification of needs, (2) needs analysis, (3) system design, (4) software design, (5) manufacture tools, and (6) testing tools. This tool uses several components such as the Raspberry Pi Zero W board as a system controller, DHT22 to detect temperature and humidity, LCD displays for media viewers as a result of room temperature measurements, and a stepper motor that moves sliding racks to turn eggs. Based on the results of testing that has been done, it can be seen that the hardware has been successfully used using the ATMega328 microcontroller system. In testing the temperature sensor there was an average error in the temperature sensor reading of 0.73% and humidity of 0.38%. The stepper motor to shift the egg rack has worked under HIGH and LOW conditions. Overall, it has been successful and according to the function that has been set, which is to do temperature and humidity readings, adjust the lamp's timming and egg rack slider. The performance test tool has succeeded in hatching eggs on time (for 22 days) with a success rate of 90%. Keywords: box egg hatching, DHT22 sensor,Raspberry Pi Zero W, stepper motor, LCD. Produksi bibit ayam dan daya tetas telur belum effisien karena para peternak ayam pada umumnya masih menggunakan penetas telur manual. Untuk itu perlu adanya alat penetas telur ayam otomatis agar lebih effisien. Pembuatan alat ini bertujuan untuk 1. membangun perangkat keras dan perangkat lunak alat penetas telur otomatis berbasis mikrokontroler, 2. mengetahui unjuk kerja sistem alat penetas telur otomatis berbasis mikrokontroler. Metode yang digunakan dalam membuat alat penetas telur dengan rak geser otomatis berbasis mikrokontroler yang terdiri dari beberapa tahap, yaitu (1) identifikasi kebutuhan, (2) analisis kebutuhan, (3) perancangan sistem, (4) perancangan perangkat lunak, (5) pembuatan alat, dan (6) pengujian alat. Alat ini menggunakan beberapa komponen seperti Raspberry pi zero W sebagai pengendali sistem, DHT22 untuk mendeteksi suhu dan kelembaban udara, LCD display untuk media penampil hasil pengukuran suhu ruangan, serta motor stepper menggerak geser rak untuk membalikan telur. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian yang telah dilakukan dapat diketahui bahwa perangkat keras telah berhasil dibuat menggunaan sistem Raspberry pi zero W. Pada pengujian sensor suhu terdapat eror rata-rata pada pembacaan sensor suhu sebesar 0.73%.dan kelembaban sebesar 0.38%. Motor stepper guna menggeser rak telur telah bekerja pada kondisi HIGH dan LOW. Secara keseluruhan telah berhasil baik dan sesuai fungsi yang telah ditetapkan yaitu melakukan pembacaan suhu dan kelembaban, mengatur timming nyala lampu dan penggeser rak telur. Uji kinerja Alat telah berhasil menetaskan telur tepat waktu (selama 22 hari) dengan tingkat keberhasilan sebesar 90%.
