Abstract
The purpose of this research was to test the impact of smartphone addiction towards interpersonal communication competence in Mother -Daughter at SMP DarrulMuttaqien. The number of subjects used in this research was 278 people designed by using purposive sampling technic. The data was collected by using a measuring instrument called SAS (Smartphone Addiction Scale) and ICCS (Interpersonal Communication Competence Scale) an questionnaire system. Each scale had reliability as much as 0.941 for the Smartphone Addiction test and 0.915 for Interpersonal Communication Competence Scale.The analysis result used simple regression analysis showed there was a significant impact on smartphone addiction towards interpersonal communication competence with effective contribution as much as 3,5% and the level of significance 0.002 with the constant -0.114. The result showed there was significance of smartphone addiction to kompetensi komunikasi interpersonal in the negative direction this show the higher level of smartphone addiction then the lower of interpersonal Communication competence. Keywords: smartphone addiction, interpersonal communication competence, motherdaughter Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh adiksi smartphone terhadap kompetensi komunikasi interpersonal terhadap Ibu-Anak di SMP Darul Muttaqien..Subjek penelitian sebanyak 278 orang dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling.Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan alat ukur SAS (Smartphone Addiction Scale) dan ICCS(Interpersonal Communication Competence Scale) melalui sistem kuesioner.Masingmasing memiliki reliabilitas sebesar 0,941 untuk skalaAdiksi Smartphone dan 0,915 untuk skala Interpersonal Communication Competence. Hasil analisis menggunakan analisa regresi sederhana menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan antara adiksi smartphone terhadap kompetensi komunikasi interpersonal dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 3,5% dan tingkat signifikasi 0.002 dengan konstanta sebesar -0.114. hasil menunjukkan adanya signifikasi adiksi smartphone terhadap kompetensi komunikasi interpersonal ke arah negatif yang berarti semakin tinggi adiksi smartphone maka semakin rendah kompetensi komunikasi interpersonal.
