Abstract

5 Senior High School Library Tangerang who had been in the library circulation is still done manually, therefore, the library reader service staff were problematic and increasingly complex constraints such as the library collection, borrower data, transaction and circulation of library collections that resulted in frequent delays in service on members of the library and preparing reports. With many of these problems in the circulation of library and in line with global developments and the flow of information, then a solution is needed. The solution could be a system of automated library information on the computerized device where the computer as a primary tool in data processing and Microsoft Visual Basic.Net 2008 as a support software design of the system. This system will also expected to result in ease of management of the circulation of books, maintenance of books and data to the reports required by the library staff, so that growth and development in library circulation process will take place very quickly and will primarily have implications for the satisfaction of the library in the case of the sub to the library. With the computerized system can generate information more quickly, precisely and accurately than the old system, and provide facilities of library staff in taking the necessary decisions. In this system the data will be maintained, with safe and preparing reports will be easier. Keywords : Library Information System, Microsoft Visual Basic.Net 2008 Perpustakaan SMA Negeri 5 Tangerang yang selama ini dalam hal sirkulasi perpustakaannya masih dilakukan secara manual, oleh karena itu staff pelayanan pembaca perpustakaan sering mengalami masalah dan kendala seperti semakin kompleksnya koleksi perpustakaan, data peminjam, transaksi dan sirkulasi koleksi perpustakaan yang mengakibatkan seringnya keterlambatan dalam pelayanan pada anggota perpustakaan dan pembuatan laporan. Dengan banyaknya permasalahan tersebut dalam sirkulasi perpustakaan dan sejalan dengan perkembangan global dan arus informasi, maka dibutuhkan sebuah penyelesaian. Adapun penyelesaian itu dapat berupa sistem informasi perpustakaan yang terotomatisasi pada komputerisasi dimana perangkat komputer sebagai alat bantu utama dalam pengolahan data dan Microsoft Visual Basic.Net 2008 sebagai perangkat lunak pendukung rancangan dari sistem. Sistem ini juga nantinya diharapkan dapat menghasilkan kemudahan pengelolaan sirkulasi buku, perawatan buku dan data anggota hingga laporan-laporan yang dibutuhkan oleh pihak staff perpustakaan, sehingga pertumbuhan dan perkembangan dalam hal proses sirkulasi perpustakaan akan berlangsung dengan cepat dan terutama nantinya akan berimplikasi dengan kepuasan anggota perpustakaan dalam hal sub keperpustakaan. Dengan adanya sistem komputerisasi dapat menghasilkan informasi yang lebih cepat, tepat dan akurat dibandingkan dengan sistem yang lama, serta memberikan kemudahan staff perpustakaan dalam mengambil keputusan yang diperlukan. Dalam sistem ini juga data akan terjaga dengan aman dan pembuatan laporan akan lebih mudah. Kata Kunci : Sistem Informasi Perpustakaan, Microsoft Visual Basic.Net 2008
