Abstract

ABSTRAK Sinar UV telah memainkan peran penting dalam menurunkan kekuatan material. Radiasi UV telah dikaitkan dengan degradasi bahan komposit dengan tingkat degradasi tergantung pada beberapa parameter utama, seperti: panjang gelombang UV, waktu pemaparan dan intensitas UV. Alat simulasi degradasi UV atau UV Weathering Chamber adalah alat mensimulasikan dampak matahari, hujan dan embun, sinar UV menggunakan lampu ultraviolet Fluorescent. Metode yang digunakan adalah VDI 2221 ialah metode pembuatan struktur fungsional, identifikasi elemen-elemen penyusun sistem yang akan dibuat dan fungsi harus dipenuhi oleh masing-masing elemen sehingga sistem tersebut dapat menjalankan fungsinya. Dalam penelitian mendapatkan hasil desain alat simulasi degradasi UV/UV Weathering Chamber yang memiliki rak spesimen yang dapat berputar sehingga radiasi dari lampu UV dapat diterima oleh spesimen secara merata, suhu alat bisa disetting suhu diantaranya 60°, 70° dan 80°(± 3) ℃, Ketika suhu 50° adanya kondensasi uap air ke spesimen uji. Kata kunci: Sinar UV, UV Weathering Chamber, VDI 2221 ABSTRACT UV rays have played an important role in lowering the strength of materials. UV radiation has been associated with degradation of composite materials with degradation rates depending on several key parameters, such as: UV wavelength, exposure time and UV intensity. UV degradation simulation tool or UV Weathering Chamber is a tool to simulate the impact of sun, rain and dew, UV light using fluorescent ultraviolet lamps. The method used is VDI 2221 is a method of making functional structures, identification of the constituent elements of the system to be made and the function must be fulfilled by each element so that the system can perform its function. In the study get the results of the design of the simulation tool degradation of UV/UV Weathering Chamber that features a rack of specimens that can be spun so that the radiation from the UV lamp can be accepted by the specimen evenly, the temperature of the tool can be set at rooms include 60°, 70° and 80°(± 3) ℃, When the temperature of 50° the presence of condensation of water vapor into the test specimen.
