Abstract

Nowadays the development of aircraft systems is increasingly sophisticated. Especially on aircraft that use a propeller as a generator of thrust. Aircraft propellers use 2 types of systems, namely systems that use fixed propellers and variable pitch propellers. Where the fixed propeller angle state of the propeller cannot change and is the simplest form of propeller and is widely used in light aircraft, variable pitch propeller where each propeller angle can move to adjust the angles during flight. Thus, the optimal value of thrust in the flight phases can be adjusted. This research is expected to prove that the difference in the blade angle on the propeller affects the thrust generated by the aircraft. In this study, a comparison of the results of each change in wind speed and thrust produced by the propeller was carried out. The shape of the variable pitch propeller for the test sample was made using 5 fixed pitch propellers which were designed to have different angles, namely 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, and 75°. Using the Ansys application to describe and calculate the wind speed (outlet) and thrust force of each propeller. The results of data analysis of thrust average, propeller with an angle of 15° obtained a value of 144.4017741 N, propeller with an angle of 30° obtained a value of 1846.035779 N, propeller with an angle of 45° obtained a value of 2416.270596 N, propeller with an angle of 60° obtained a value of 2400 ,547391 N, and the propeller with an angle of 75° obtained a value of 1389,46042 N. From the results of the analysis carried out, it was found that the air velocity and fluid flow data showed that the greater the air velocity around the propeller, the greater the turbulence in the air flow. Optimal air flow is found in the propeller with an angle of 45°, with air flow that has minimal vortex energy so that the turbulence in the flow is not so significant compared to other propellers and is followed by a smaller maximum air velocity compared to other propellers with air velocity values around the propeller. of 470,571 m/s. The propeller with an angle of 45 degrees is the best and most effective propeller compared to the other 4 types of propeller. Keywords: propeller, fixed pitch, variable pitch Zaman sekarang pengembangan pada sistem pesawat terbang semakin canggih. Khususnya pada pesawat yang menggunakan propeller sebagai penghasil gaya dorong. Propeller pesawat menggunakan 2 jenis sistem yaitu sistem yang menggunakan fixed propeller dan variable pitch propeller. Dimana fixed propeller keadaan sudut dari propeller tidak dapat berubah dan merupakan bentuk propeller paling sederhana dan banyak dipakai pada pesawat ringan, variable pitch propeller dimana setiap sudut propeller dapat bergerak menyesuaikan sudut-sudut pada saat terbang. Dengan demikian dapat disesuaikan nilai optimal gaya dorong pada fase-fase penerbangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan bahwa perbedaan sudut pada propeller berpengaruh terhadap gaya dorong yang dihasilkan pesawat. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan perbandingan hasil tiap perubahan kecepatan angin dan gaya dorong yang dihasilkan propeller. Bentuk variable pitch propeller untuk sampel pengujian dibuat menggunakan 5 buah fixed pitch propeller yang didesain memiliki sudut sudut yang berbeda beda, yaitu 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, dan 75°. Menggunakan aplikasi Ansys untuk menggambarkan serta menghitung kecepatan angin (outlet) dan thrust force tiap-tiap propeller. Hasil analisis data thrust average, propeller dengan sudut 15° didapatkan nilai 144,4017741 N, propeller dengan sudut 30° didapatkan nilai 1.846,035779 N, propeller dengan sudut 45° didapatkan nilai 2.416,270596 N, propeller dengan sudut 60° didapatkan nilai 2.400,547391 N, dan propeller dengan sudut 75° didapatkan nilai 1.389,46042 N. Dari hasil analisis yang dilakukan didapati data kecepatan udara dan aliran fluida bahwa semakin besar kecepatan udara di sekitar propeller maka turbulensi pada aliran udara akan semakin besar. Aliran udara yang optimal terdapat pada propeller dengan sudut 45°, dengan aliran udara yang memiliki energi pusaran yang minim sehingga turbulensi pada aliran tidak begitu signifikan dibandingkan propeller lain, dan diikuti kecepatan udara maksimal yang lebih kecil dibandingkan propeller lain dengan nilai kecepatan udara di sekitar propeller sebesar 470.571 m/s. Propeller dengan sudut 45° merupakan propeller paling baik dan efektif dibandingkan dari ke 4 jenis propeller yang lain. Kata kunci: propeller, fixed pitch, variable pitch
