Abstract

Adolescents who have mothers that work as migrant workers cannot live together, this situation caused the limitation of interaction between mothers and children, and limit the opportunities for mothers to accompany their children's growth and development, including the development of social skills of children who have reached adulthood period. This study aims to determine the relationship between mother-child attachment and social skills of adolescents who have mothers who work as migrant workers. This research was conducted using quantitative descriptive method with correlational techniques. Data collection was carried out online and offline using a non-probability technique with the discriminatory snaw-ball method. A total of 109 were obtained. The results of data analysis showed that there was a significant positive relationship between mother-child attachment and the social skills of adolescents whose mothers worked as migrant workers. That is, the higher the attachment that exists between mother and child, the higher the social skills possessed by adolescents, even though their mothers work far abroad as migrant workers. The results of data analysis also show that respondents who have high attachment communicated more often with their mothers, compared to respondents who have less communication with their mothers. The aspect of mother's trust in children makes the highest contribution in developing adolescent social skills. Keyword: Attachment, Social Skills, Adolescent, Migrant Workers Remaja yang memiliki ibu yang bekerja sebagai TKW tidak dapat tinggal bersama, hal ini dapat membatasi waktu kebersamaan antara ibu dan anak, serta membatasi kesempatan ibu untuk membersamai tumbuh kembang anak, termasuk perkembangan keterampilan sosial anak yang sudah menginjak usia dewasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kelekatan ibu-anak dengan keterampilan sosial remaja yang memiliki ibu yang bekerja sebagai TKW. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik korelasional. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara online dan offline menggunakan teknik non-probability dengan metode snaw-ball diskriminatif. Diperoleh Sebanyak 109. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa hubungan yang signifikan positif antara kelekatan ibu-anak dengan keterampilan sosial remaja yang memiliki ibu bekerja sebagai TKW. Artinya, semakin tinggi kelekatan yang terjalin antara ibu dan anak maka akan semakin tinggi pula keterampilan sosial yang dimiliki oleh remaja, meskipun ibunya bekerja jauh di luar negeri sebagai TKW. Hasil analisa data juga menunjukkan bahwa responden yang memiliki kelekatan tinggi melakukan komunikasi lebih sering dengan ibunya, dibandingkan dengan responden yang kurang menjalin komunikasi dengan ibunya. Aspek kepercayaan ibu terhadap anak memberikan sumbangan yang paling tinggi dalam mengembangkan keterampilan sosial remaja.
