Abstract

One of the parameters to determine the performance of the CFM56-7B engine is to look at the value of the Exhaust Gas Temperature Margin (EGT Margin). Engine performance is good if the EGT margin has a positive value, and vice versa. Many factors can affect the value of the EGT, one of them is due to a mismatch between the target and the actual throat area of the High Pressure Turbine (HPT) Nozzle. These factors affect the efficiency of the engine airflow system, where if the efficiency is low, the EGT value will be higher and the EGT margin will be lower. The purpose of this study was to determine how big or strong the relationship between the throat area of the HPT Nozzle and the EGT margin value. The method used is the Pearson Correlation method, by comparing the value of the throat area HPT Nozzle on each engine to the actual EGT Margin performance result. In processing the data using the manual correlation method and the results of the correlation are expressed in the correlation coefficient and then look for the linear regression equation. The data taken is the value of the throat area of the HPT Nozzle from 14 Engine Serial Number (ESN) that perform overhaul process, then the data is searched for the delta value against the minimum value of the manual recommendation in order to know the value of the EGT losses. The results of this study concluded that the throat area of HPT Nozzle correlation has a value of r = -0,2003 and DC=4,02% with the regression equation is . The correlation coefficient value shows negative results, which means the relationship is in the opposite direction and has a relatively weak correlation to the EGT Margin value because there are still many other factors that affect the EGT Margin value, including HPC honeycomb seal, HPT inner stasionary seal, HPT front outer seal, LPT outer seal, dan LPT inner seal. Keywords: Exhaust Gas Temperature, CFM56-7B, crash severity, HPT Nozzle throat Area, Pearson Correlation Salah satu parameter untuk mengetahui performa dari engine CFM56-7B adalah dengan melihat nilai dari Exhaust Gas Temperature Margin (EGT Margin). Performa engine dikatakan bagus apabila EGT Margin memiliki nilai positif, dan begitu pula sebaliknya. Banyak faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi nilai dari EGT Margin, salah satunya adalah karena adanya ketidaksesuaian target dan aktual dari luas throat area High Pressure Turbine (HPT) Nozzle. Faktor tersebut berpengaruh pada efisiensi sistem aliran udara engine, di mana jika efisiensinya rendah maka akan berdampak pada nilai EGT Margin yang menjadi rendah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa besar atau kuatnya hubungan antara luas throat area HPT Nozzle terhadap nilai EGT margin. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode Korelasi Pearson yaitu dengan cara membandingkan nilai dimensi luas throat area HPT Nozzle pada setiap engine terhadap hasil performa EGT Margin aktualnya. Pada pengolahan data menggunakan metode perhitungan korelasi manual dan hasil dari korelasinya dinyatakan dalam koefisien korelasi dan kemudian dicari persamaan regresi linearnya. Data yang diambil adalah nilai luas throat area HPT Nozzle dari 14 Engine Serial Number (ESN) yang melakukan proses overhaul, yang kemudian data tersebut dicari nilai delta terhadap nilai minimum rekomendasi manual agar dapat diketahui nilai EGT losses-nya. Pada hasil penelitian ini diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa korelasi throat area HPT Nozzle memiliki nilai r = -0.20039 dan KD = 4,02% dengan persamaan regresinya adalah . Nilai koefisien korelasinya menunjukkan hasil negatif yang berarti hubungan terjadi berlawanan arah dan memiliki korelasi yang tergolong lemah terhadap nilai EGT Margin dikarenakan masih terdapat banyak faktor lainnya yang mempengaruhi nilai EGT Margin, di antaranya HPC honeycomb seal, HPT inner stasionary seal, HPT front outer seal, LPT outer seal, dan LPT inner seal.
