Abstract

PT Lautan Otsuka Chemical (PT LOC) is chemical industry to produce chemical Blowing Agent - Azodicarbonamide. There is three type Azodicarbonamide produced by PT LOC that is U type, H type and L type. The each other have the different character, different application and also different process. To fulfill sales order in accurate amount and the right time of delivery to each type needed a good forecasting method to measure or estimate request each of type in the future. This matter can be done by involve of past data and place it to next periode with a mathematical model. This research look for the better forecasting technique by comparing some forecasting technique like method of least square, constant and eksponential smoothing. Every forecasting technique determined accuration of result of its forecast to see the mistake with calculate value of Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD), Mean Squared Error (MSE) And Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). Result from this research is indication least square forecasting technique is better method for U type and H type with having smallest forecast error. And for the L type indication method of eksponential Smoothing with α = 0.75 is better method with having smallest forecast error. PT Lautan Otsuka Chemical (PT LOC) merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang industri kimia yang menghasilkan produk Azodicarbonamida sebagai bahan pengembang (blowing agent). Ada tiga type Azodicarbonamida yang diproduksi oleh PT LOC yaitu type U, type H dan type L. Ketiganya memiliki karakter yang berbeda, aplikasi berbeda maupun dalam proses produksinya. Untuk memenuhi permintaan pasar dengan jumlah yang tepat, waktu penyerahan yang tepat untuk masing-masing type diperlukan suatu metode peramalan yang akurat untuk mengukur atau memperkirakan keadaan / permintaan masing-masing type dimasa yang akan datang. Hal ini dapat dilakukan dengan melibatkan pengambilan data masa lalu dan menempatkannya ke masa yang akan datang dengan suatu bentuk model matematis Penelitian ini mencari teknik peramalan yang lebih baik dengan cara membandingkan beberapa teknik peramalan seperti metode least square, konstan dan eksponential smoothing. Setiap teknik peramalan ditentukan akurasi hasil peramalannya untuk menghitung kesalahan peramalan dengan menghitung nilai Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD), Mean Squared Error (MSE) dan Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh untuk type U dan type H metode peramalan least square mengindikasikan metode yang lebih baik dengan kesalahan peramalan paling kecil. Untuk type L metode peramalan eksponential Smoothing dengan α = 0,75 mengindikasikan metode yang lebih baik dengan kesalahan peramalan paling kecil.
