Abstract

The demand for green technology is increasing rapidly throughout the world, it is important for researchers in general, especially in Indonesia to take advantage of Indonesia's geographical advantage which has low winds ranging from 3.0 m/s for the use of wind power projects. The use of a conical axis on a spiral horizontal axis wind turbine model with three blades only produces the highest power coefficient of 0.55 at a wind speed of 7m/s. In this study, the type of horizontal axis wind turbine model (TASH) three spiral blades using a conventional shaft made of Polylactic Acid (PLA) has dimensions; Rotor length = 125 mm, turbine diameter 269 mm, aspect ratio 125: 269 mm, and turbine blade spiral angle of 220o . The test was carried out in the wind tunnel laboratory of the Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Mercu Buana University. The wind turbine undergoes a series of tests on the speed variation measured along with the rated voltage and current output of the wind turbine. From the test results, the highest turbine power actual value is 26.56 W and the highest actual torque is 0.155 N.m at a wind speed of 11 m/s, the highest power coefficient is 0.57 at a wind speed of 9 m/s, the highest torque coefficient is 0.22 at a wind speed of 3 m/s, and the highest tip speed ratio of 0.99 at a speed of 11 m/s. Permintaan akan green technology meningkat pesat di seluruh dunia, penting bagi para peneliti pada umumnya ,khususnya di Indonesia untuk memanfaatkan keunggulan geografis Indonesia yang mempunyai angin rendah berkisar antara 3.0 m/s bagi pemanfaatan proyek pembangkit listrik bertenaga angin. Penggunaan poros kerucut pada model turbin angin sumbu horisontal spiral dengan tiga bilah hanya menghasilkan koefisien daya tertinggi yaitu 0,55 pada kecepatan angin 7m/s. Dalam penelitian ini, jenis model turbin angin sumbu horizontal (TASH) tiga bilah spiral dengan menggunakan poros konvensional yang terbuat dari Polylactic Acid (PLA) memiliki dimensi; Panjang rotor = 125 mm, diameter turbin 269 mm, aspect ratio 125 : 269 mm, serta sudut putar spiral bilah turbin 220o . Pengujian dilakukan di wind tunnel laboratorium Prodi Teknik Mesin Universitas Mercu Buana. Turbin angin menjalani serangkaian tes pada variasi kecepatan diukur bersamaan dengan nilai tegangan dan arus keluaran dari turbin angin. Dari hasil pengujian didapatkan nilai actual daya turbin tertinggi sebesar 26,56 W dan actual torsi tertinggi sebesar 0,155 N.m pada kecepatan angin 11 m/s, koefisien daya tertinggi yaitu 0,57 pada kecepatan angin 9 m/s, koefisien torsi tertinggi yaitu 0,22 pada kecepatan angin 3 m/s, serta tip speed ratio tertinggi sebesar 0,99 pada kecepatan 11 m/s.
