Abstract

In adolescence there is a change in physical form, related to dissatisfaction with body shape that is not in accordance with the ideal physical picture as expected. Body shape is closely related to self-confidence in women. Body dissatisfaction will encourage someone to try more in improving their appearance as expected. This study aims to determine the effect of body dissatisfaction on the dietary behaviour of adolescent female in DKI Jakarta. The research will be carried out using a quantitative approach with simple linear regression analysis techniques and non-probability sampling methods. Respondents’ data collection (n=185) was carried out using a questionnaire to obtain information about the respondent's age and domicile, body dissatisfaction scale, and the respondent’s dietary behaviour. The effect of body shape dissatisfaction on diet behaviour is 26.1%. Body dissatisfaction does not affect diet behaviour much because even though the feeling of body dissatisfaction is low, women still go on a diet with the aim of maintaining their weight. Pada masa remaja terjadi perubahan bentuk fisik, berhubungan dengan rasa tidak puas terhadap bentuk tubuh yang tidak sesuai dengan gambaran fisik ideal seperti yang diharapkan. Bentuk tubuh erat kaitannya dengan kepercayaan diri pada wanita. Ketidakpuasan bentuk tubuh akan mendorong seseorang untuk berusaha lebih dalam memperbaiki penampilan sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh ketidakpuasan bentuk tubuh terhadap perilaku diet remaja putri di DKI Jakarta. Penelitian akan dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis regresi linear sederhana dan metode pengambilan sampel non probability sampling, pengambilan data responden (n=185) dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai usia dan domisili responden, skala ketidakpuasan bentuk tubuh, dan perilaku diet responden. Pengaruh ketidakpuasan bentuk tubuh terhadap perilaku diet d sebesar 26,1%. Ketidakpuasan bentuk tubuh tidak banyak memengaruhi perilaku diet karena walaupun perasaan ketidakpuasan bentuk tubuh rendah, namun wanita tetap melakukan diet dengan tujuan mempertahankan berat badannya.
