Abstract

The use of motorcycles in Indonesia has increased every year. With the increasing number of motorcycle types in Indonesia, the need for motorcycle tires in Indonesia will also increase. Ply (layer) is one part of the material in the construction of motorcycle tires. The non-standard length of the ply in the production process of making ply will affect productivity in the manufacture of motorcycle tires. The aim of the research is to increase the productivity of the ply by standardizing the production of the length of the ply. The research was conducted by implementing a length counter system on a bias cutting machine (machine that produces ply). This research was carried out by adding a program to the PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) which was already installed on the machine that functions as a machine controller and adding a page to the HMI (Human Machine Interface) as a medium for monitoring the actual length of the ply. The data from the test results carried out 10 times showed the use of the SM411 internal relay on the Mitsubishi PLC which gave a pulse once every 0.2 seconds had the same percentage of precision to the target as the SM413 internal relay and the SM412 internal relay 100% and the percentage error in its accuracy to the target was 0,065 % which has a smaller error rate than the SM413 internal relay and the SM412 internal relay which have the same error percentage, which is 0,184%. Penggunaan sepeda motor di Indonesia mengalami peningkatan setiap tahunnya. Dengan semakin meningkatnya jumlah kendaraan jenis sepeda motor di Indonesia, maka kebutuhan ban untuk jenis motorcycle di Indonesia juga akan semakin meningkat. Ply (lapisan) merupakan salah satu bagian matrial pada kontruksi ban motor. Tidak standarnya panjang ply dalam proses produksi pembuatan ply akan mempengaruhi produktivitas pada pembuatan ban jenis motorcycle. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk meningkatkan produktivitas ply dengan cara menstandarkan hasil produksi panjang ply. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengimplementasikan length counter system pada mesin bias cutting (mesin yang memproduksi ply). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara menambahkan program pada PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) yang sudah terpasang pada mesin yang berfungsi sebagai kontroler mesin dan menambahkan page pada HMI (Human Machine Interface) sebagai media monitoring panjang ply aktual. Data hasil pengujian yang dilakukan sebanyak 10 kali menunjukkan penggunaan internal relay SM411 pada PLC Mitsubishi yang memberikan pulse per 0,2 detik sekali memiliki persentase presisi terhadap target sama seperti internal relay SM413 dan internal relay SM412 100% dan persentase error pada akurasinya terhadap target sebesar 0,065% yang lebih kecil tingkat error-nya dibandingkan internal relay SM413 dan internal relay SM412 yang memiliki persentase error yang sama yaitu 0,184%.
