Abstract

Good body posture at work can increase worker productivity and reduce the risk of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD). PT Kangar Consolidated Industries is a manufacturing company that produces glass bottles. Packer workers at PT KCI Line 22 still use manual handling in the bottle packaging process and have a high risk of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD) where the posture of the packer workers is too long to bow on the first and second stacks and the position of the hands that lifts too high on the sixth and seventh stacks. The frequency of movement changes by packer workers also very large with a long working time. So this study aims to determine the level of ergonomic risk by using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method and to determine the load limit that can be lifted by PT KCI packer workers with the Recommended Weight Limit (RWL) method. The results of the study indicate that the level of ergonomic risk with the REBA method is very high for the first stack, high for the second stack, and moderate for the third to seventh stack. The results of the Recommended Weight Limit and Lifting Index calculations on the first pile packer workers show that the maximum mass of the load that can be lifted is 1.3 Kg with a Lifting Index value of 1.25, which means that there is a risk of spinal cord injury and is indicated to cause physical stress. So the proposed improvement is given by procuring scissor lift, so that the height of the stacks can be adjusted to follow the position of the worker's body. Postur tubuh yang baik dapat meningkatkan produktivitas pekerja dan mengurangi resiko Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD). PT Kangar Consolidated Industries merupakan sebuah perusahaan manufaktur yang memproduksi botol kaca. Pekerja packer pada PT KCI Line 22 masih menggunakan manual handling dalam proses pengemasan botol dan terlihat memiliki resiko Musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) yang tinggi dimana postur pekerja packer terlalu lama menunduk pada tumpukan pertama dan kerdua serta posisi tangan yang mengakat terlalu tinggi pada tumpukan keenam dan ketujuh. Frekuensi perubahan gerakan oleh pekerja packer juga sangat besar dengan waktu kerja yang cukup lama. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat resiko ergonomi dengan menggunakan metode Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) dan mengetahui batas beban yang dapat diangkat oleh pekerja packer PT KCI dengan metode Recommended Weight Limit (RWL). Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat resiko ergonomi dengan metode REBA sangat tinggi untuk tumpukan pertama, tinggi untuk tumpukan kedua, dan sedang untuk tumpukan ketiga sampai ketujuh. Hasil perhitungan RWL dan LI pada pekerja packer tumpukan pertama menunjukkan batas maksimum massa beban yang dapat diangkat adalah 1,3Kg dengan nilai Lifting Index 1,25 yang berarti dapat berisiko cedera tulang belakang dan terindikasi bisa mengakibatkan stres secara fisik. Sehingga diberikan usulan perbaikan dengan pengadaan alat bantu kerja berupa scissor lift, sehingga tinggi rendahnya palet dapat disesuaikan untuk mengikuti posisi tubuh pekerja.
