Abstract
This study aims to determine whether there is a correlation between emotional intelligence and academic stress of online learning during the Covid-19. This research is a quantitative research which conclusions are obtained based on the results of statistical analysis. The population in this study were students at X University in West Jakarta with 89 respondents using non-probability sampling techniques with accidental sampling method.. The data obtained through the questionnaire method. Previously, the questionnaire had been tested and tested for validity and reliability. In this study, 89 respondents were collected, with 40 male respondents and 49 female respondents. This study used a Goleman emotional intelligence totaling 18 items with a value of (α) = .803 and a Gadzella academic stress scale of 19 items with a value (α) = .907. The data obtained in this study using the Spearman’s rho correlation resulted in data in the form of correlation of (r) -.484 with a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.01) so that it can be concluded that there is a significant negatif relationship in the emotional intelligence variabel and student academic stres during the Covid-19 online learning period at X University in West Jakarta. So it can be interpreted that if the higherthe emotional intelligence students are, the lowerthe academic stres that students have in online learning, then the lower the emotional intelligence students, the higher the student's academic stres in online learning Key Words : Emotional Intelligence and Academic Stres. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adakah korelasi antara kecerdasan emosional dengan stres akademik mahasiswa di Universitas X Jakarta Barat pada masa pembelajaran daring Covid-19. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kuantitatif yang kesimpulannnya diperoleh berdasarkan hasil analisis statistik. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah Mahasiswa di Universitas X di Jakarta Barat kelas karyawan dengan responden 89 orang dengan teknik sampling menggunakan teknik non-probability sampling metode accidental sampling.. Data yang diperoleh melalui metode quisioner. Sebelumnya quisioner diuji validitas dan diuji reliabilitas terlebih dahulu. Pada penenlitian ini terkumpul sebanyak 89 responden dengan jumlah laki laki sebanyak 40 responden dan perempuan sebanyak 49 responden. Penelitian ini menggunakan skala kecerdasan emosional Goleman berjumlah 18 item dengan nilai (α) = .803 serta skala stres akademik Gadzella sebanyak 19 item dengan nilai (α) = .907 . Data yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini dengan menggunakan korelasi Spearmans rho menghasilkan data berupa korelasi sebesar (r) - .484 dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p<0,01) sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan pada variabel kecerdasan emosional dan stress akademik mahasiswa di Universitas X Jakarta Barat pada masa pembelajaran daring Covid-19. Maka dapat diartikan jika semakin tinggi kecerdasan emosional pada mahasiswa maka, semakin rendah stress akademik yang dimiliki mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran daring lalu, semakin rending kecerdasan emosional mahasiswa maka, semakin tinggi stress akademik mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran daring.
