Abstract

Every company engaged in the packaging industry is closely related to quality, therefore of course a company will always make improvements and quality improvements on an ongoing basis. One of the problems faced in the company where the author is, is that many products are rejected in easy open end cans. Of course, many factors can affect the defective product, one of the contributing factors is engine performance. By analyzing the causes of product defects on the machine, so that it can implement appropriate preventive maintenance and repair, so that it is expected to reduce the number of defects in the product less and less so that later it will improve the quality of a product for the better. Based on the research results obtained in 2019-2021 the defects that often occur are scratches, sunmarks and EOE dents with an average monthly defect in 2019 of 1650pcs, 1750pcs and 1009pcs, for 2020 they have an average of 1417pcs, 834pcs and 1917pcs, for in 2021 1,975pcs, 1,250pcs and 1,075pcs with a DPMO value of 3.54. By analyzing the mechanical properties of the material and the corrosion testing that has been carried out followed by proper maintenance, in 2022 there will be an average decrease per month with the number of 1065pcs, 17pcs and 102pcs with the DPMO value increasing by 4.47. Setiap perusahaan yang bergerak pada dunia industri kemasan berhubungan erat dengan kualitas, sebab itu tentunya suatu perusahaan akan selalu melakukan peningkatan dan perbaikan kualitas secara berkelanjutan. Salah satu masalah yang dihadapi di perusahaan tempat penulis adalah banyak produk yang reject pada jenis kemasan kaleng easy open end. Tentunya banyak faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi produk cacat tersebut, salah satu faktor penyebab adalah peforma mesin. Dengan menganalisis penyebab terjadinya cacat produk pada mesin, sehingga dapat menerapkan preventive maintenance and repair sesuai, sehingga diharapkan dapat menurunkan angka cacat pada produk semakin sedikit sehingga nantinya meningkatkan kualitas suatu produk menjadi lebih bagus. Berdasarkan hasil penilitian diperoleh pada tahun 2019-2021 cacat yang sering terjadi adalah scratches, sunmark dan EOE penyok dengan rata-rata cacat perbulan pada tahun 2019 sebanyak 1650pcs, 1750pcs dan 1009pcs, untuk tahun 2020 memiliki rata-rata 1417pcs, 834pcs dan 1917pcs, untuk tahun 2021 1,975pcs, 1,250pcs dan 1,075pcs dengan nilai DPMO 3.54. Dengan menganalisa sifat mekanik material dan pengujian korosi yang telah dilakukan dilanjutkan dengan perawatan yang tepat maka pada tahun 2022 mengalami penurunan rata-rata per bulan dengan jumlah 1065pcs, 17pcs dan 102pcs dengan nilai DPMO mengalami peningkatan sebesar 4,47.
