Abstract
Capasitor bank panels play a very important role in saving electricity power consumption for office buildings, hotels, apartments, factories or industries. This panel is usually placed right out of the power source or power, both electric power comes from the PLN Generator Set (Genset) Transformer. The basic concept why in a industry a Bank Capasitor panel is needed to improve power factor is because many industries use tools in which there are windings and iron core elements. The equipment (load) has a low cos phi. The capacitor used to enlarge the power factor is installed parallel to the load circuit. After installation of the Bank Capacitor panel, all or part of the reactive power required by the inductive load will be supplied by the Bank Capasitor. So the task of the electric center will be lighter because it only supplies active power. Reducing high-value reactive power by increasing the power value of certain factors with apparent power compensation, reactive power, will decrease in value and constant active power, it will provide an advantage for the industry because it can still be added to the nominal capacity of Kva, at PT. Parent (OT) value of the power factor has been reached as desired, which is 0.92 after 70 KVAR bank capacitors are installed. Keywords: low voltage electrical panels, bank capacitors Panel capasitor bank sangat berperan sangat penting untuk menghemat pemakaian daya listrik gedung perkantoran, hotel, apartement, pabrik atau industri. Panel ini biasanya ditempatkan tepat di keluarkan sumber atau power tenaga listrik, baik power listrik tersebut berasal dari Trafo PLN Generator Set (Genset). Konsep dasar mengapa dalam sebuah industri diperlukan panel Capasitor Bank untuk memperbaiki faktor daya adalah karena di industri banyak menggunakan alat-alat yang didalamnya terdapat unsur lilitan dan inti besi. Alat-alat (beban) tersebut memiliki cos phi yang rendah.Kapasitor yang digunakan untuk memperbesar faktor daya dipasang paralel dengan rangkaian beban. Sesudah pemasangan panel Capasitor Bank, seluruh atau sebagian daya reaktif yang diperlukan oleh beban induktif akan disuplai oleh Capasitor Bank. Sehingga tugas sentral listrik akan menjadi lebih ringan karena hanya menyuplai daya aktif saja. Menurunkan daya reaktif yang bernilai tinggi dengan cara menaikan nilai power faktor tertentu dengan kompensasi daya semu, daya reaktif, akan berkurang nilainya dan daya aktifnya konstan, maka akan memberi keuntungan bagi industri karena masih bisa ditambah pembebanan sampai kapasitas nominal Kva, pada PT. Orang Tua (OT) nilai faktor dayanya telah tercapai sesuai yang diinginkan yaitu 0,92 setelah dipasang kapasitor bank 70 KVAR. Kata kunci : panel listrik tegangan rendah, capasitor bank
