Abstract
In the maintenance process when conducting inspections and repairs on the engine at TBW-8 PT. GMF Aeroasia, operators are required to open the thrust reverser assemblies using a hydraulic pump that is pumped repeatedly in a squat position. Non-ergonomic work postures resulted in a high operator absenteeism rate with 14 times from January to July 2022 due to illness. The purpose of this study is to determine the risk level of Musculosketal Disorders (MSDs) and make suggestions for improvement. The analytical methods used in this research are REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment) and RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment) analysis methods. Based on the calculation of REBA and RULA scores, it can be seen that the most risky work is in activity 4, namely the activity of pumping the engine pump. The REBA score in activity 4 is 10 while the RULA score is 7, which means that both scores have a high level of risk so that improvements need to be made immediately. After repairs were made in the form of providing aids, the REBA and RULA scores were calculated again and the REBA score became 3 with a low risk level and the RULA score became 4 with a low risk level. One suggestion is to immediately treat workers or operators who are exposed to ergonomic problems or muscle pain so that the employee can quickly recover from his illness. Keywords: Work postures, Thrust reverser assemblies, Musculosketal Disorder (MSDs), REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assesment), RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment). https://lib.
