Abstract

PT. GMF Aeroasia is a company engaged in aircraft maintenance services. This maintenance service is one of the important processes in maintaining aircraft performance to ensure flight safety. One of the maintenance services is painting the aircraft livery. In the production process of painting the aircraft livery, there are still some defects that affect the quality of painting the aircraft livery. The purpose of this study is to find out the factors that cause defects in the aircraft livery painting process, provide suggestions for improvements to minimize defects in the aircraft livery painting process. The PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action) method is an alternative that is used by using Pareto diagrams and causal diagrams to find the root cause of the problem. Based on the cause-and-effect diagram, it was found that five factors that caused the defect were human factors, machine factors, method factors, material factors, and environmental factors. In the plan stage, the author proposes improvement ideas with the help of the 5W+1H method. In the do stage, the implementation of the results of improvement ideas is carried out. In the check stage, the results of the repair activities carried out were a decrease in overspray and sagging defects in 2022. When compared to 2021, overspray decreased by 9 with a percentage decrease of 47%, then in sagging there was a decrease of 6 with a percentage decrease of 35%. In the action stage, a standardization is established which aims to prevent the problem from reoccurring. Keyword : Defect, Aircraft Livery Painting, PDCA PT. GMF Aeroasia merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang jasa perawatan pesawat terbang. Jasa perawatan ini merupakan salah satu proses yang penting dalam menjaga performa pesawat untuk memastikan keselamatan penerbangan. Salah satu jasa perawatannya yaitu pengecatan aircraft livery. Dalam proses produksi pengecatan aircraft livery, masih terdapat beberapa cacat sehingga mempengaruhi kualitas pengecatan aircraft livery. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui faktor-faktor penyebab terjadinya cacat dari proses pengecatan aircraft livery, memberikan usulan perbaikan untuk meminimalkan cacat pada proses pengecatan aircraft livery. Metode PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action) menjadi salah satu alternatif yang digunakan dengan menggunakan diagram pareto dan diagram sebab akibat untuk mencari akar penyebab masalah. Berdasarkan diagram sebab-akibat, ditemukan lima faktor penyebab terjadinya cacat tersebut yaitu faktor manusia, faktor mesin, faktor metode, faktor material, dan faktor lingkungan. Tahap plan, penulis mengusulkan ide-ide perbaikan dengan bantuan metode 5W+1H. Tahap do, dilakukan implementasi dari hasil ide-ide perbaikan. Tahap check, hasil dari kegiatan perbaikan yang dilakukan yaitu terjadi penurunan pada cacat overspray dan sagging tahun 2022. Jika dibandingkan dengan tahun 2021, overspray terjadi penurunan 9 dengan persentase penurunan 47%, kemudian pada sagging terjadi penurunan 6 dengan persentase penurunan 35%. Tahap action, ditetapkan sebuah standarisasi yang bertujuan untuk mencegah agar masalah tidak terulang kembali. Kata Kunci : Cacat, Aircraft Livery Painting, PDCA
